Official Adidas Derrick Rose Thread - D Rose 11

I just noticed you can't actually make a couple of the example mi d rose 6 that they have on the example banner. I tried remaking that red and black camo one and realized the camo patterns are completely different on the sample than the options they give. Also tried making that galaxy looking one, the sample shoes has way less specks than the one you can make. And unless those blue soles are the translucent ones, you can't use that either/

Only one game on the curry so far. These are THE BEST shoe this year so far IMO.

Duke how is the material on the aways? Love the colorway, but hesitant because of last year's l train colorway. Don't have much confidence in Adidas using synthetics (not that they did any good on the suede).

More of a matte but very L train-ish. Doesn't wrinkle even close though. Feel more like the away 4's. Yeah, that's what it is.

Thank you duke. Looks like upper material problems is something we just gotta deal with.

I'll throw some pics up shortly. Played 9 full court games so far so there is some creasing but not too bad.

Saw the coupon was posted on Reddit 3 days ago today. Thought it was gonna expire after the weekend so I placed an order last night but it's still working but who knows how long so take advantage while you can.

I have never tried on a pair of boost BBALL shoes and I have interest in the black/red colorway. How do boost feel in comparison in to Nike Zoom Air? It seems like a lot of people are praising it like it's more responsive then Zoom Air. Can someone tell me as far as the comfort and so forth of Boost?
It's actually not, think of it as more like a lunarlon that doesn't bottom out. Zoom air is definitely more responsive, but I feel it takes a toll on your knees after a while.

Boost and zoom air feel totally different. While zoom air usually has targeted areas that only can be felt in targeted zones boost covers the entire foot (when full length and uncaged). The heel to toe transition can feel amazing. Its like the boost is giving your foot a hug. This results in a much smoother ride.  Boost is almost always awesome but its one of the most unpredictable cushion setups and relies heavily on the amount of boost used. the midsole container (Eva, Adiprene, Adiprene+), and the additional tech features (Sprintweb, Torision system, Primeknit, etc...)  . Every boost shoe I own feels drastically different.

Pure Boosts = Extremely plush. Bouncy. Almost mushy. Zero arch support. Feels slightly unstable. My legs actually hurt after wearing these for 8+ hours but if you're not on your feet all day they're amazing. Great alternative to slippers.

Energy Boost = Still plush. Bouncy. Not mushy. Stable. Good for long periods of wear.

Rose 5 = Heel is awesome. Plush. Bouncy. Stable. Forefoot is lackluster since the boost is caged.

RG3 Boost Trainer = Almost the exact same as the Rose's but the forefoot feels slightly better.

Crazylight Boost 2015 = Bouncy. Plush. Almost a perfect mix of support and comfort. It only has heel boost but the forefoot actually feels really nice once broken in for some reason.  The primeknit upper accommodates my wide foot like very few Adidas basketball shoes have in the past. I can wear these all day.

Rose 6 = ? Not sure. Just ordered them. Expectations are high but I have a feeling the different upper materials are going to have a big affect on comfort.

The closest Nike setup to the feeling of boost would probably be the Lebron Xi. Full length Zoom Air encased in a Lunarlon Midsole/Insole. It has a similar plushness and comfort but it lacks the bounce of boost.

im thinking about buying the Halloween colourway.  i've never had a shoe with glow in the dark soles before.  do they perform well or can they be slippery like translucent soles?

Sorry Deezy - don't care what kick genius says, these are NICE. Might with for some different color/material combos though.

Word, kick genius wasn't too keen on the D Rose 5 either, but I loved those for hooping.

I saw their Rose 6 review and they were still singing the praises of the Jordan XX9, while comparing it to the upper of the Rose 6. Seems like they are still Giddy from being invited to that XX9 event at the Jordan mansion and being given free 29s. Maybe salty that they had to buy the Roses?

No hate to Kick Genius, I still like their reviews, just don't agree on the Rose reviews.

Really?  Watching part of their review, I came away thinking they liked it depending on the colorway/materials.  I didn't watch the whole thing though.

I thought they said everything was great except the stiffness or lack thereof of the upper depending on colorway.  That kind of throws me off since a lot of Rose models use different materials and you have to be choosy.

Anyway, I don't follow their reviews as much as NW, Duke and people on NT.  They can dunk and ball out, but they also seem kind of young and while I respect the creativity and concept of their brand, I just don't think it's very genuine at times (fancy vocabulary and tone of voice seems forced at times).  I like when their true personalities shine through like on vlogs and the occasional "bars!" haha.  Props to them for doing their thing though.

@arabianite3

I'm on a similar page. I get that once you try 'that one shoe' that is your ultimate, it's hard not to compare.  I like their reviews too, but feel like they do get too hung up on their favorite model and nothing new seems to be judged on level ground.

I love playing in the XX9 and I may be in the minority here, but something with the transition on them is a little off.  Still love playing in that shoe, but there are some other models I would reach for if I needed something that I knew wouldn't let me down.

Looking forward to your thoughts on the 6 @duke40
