Official Adidas Derrick Rose Thread - D Rose 11

Derrick is actually wearing the red mesh pair tonight...Looks great on the court with the red unis.

Thinking copping rose 6 away for casual over a kyries 2 what do you think guys
I'm a Rose fanboy...Have 2 pairs of the 6's currently...

Beyond it being Rose, boost is legit.  The Rose line doesn't feel as good as say the Pure Boost or Ultra Boost, but it's still boost going up against another performance basketball shoe's cushioning...Boost will win out without question.

I also wear my shoes for casual wear/work, so trust me when I tell you, it's definitely worth it.

Also story is the Kyrie 2 is uncomfortable as hell because of a lack of cushioning...

I just got the primeknits in and I can't help but be disappointed.

I was under the impression that the primeknit was going to feel like primeknit.

Its a hardened knit material with a layer of plastic underneath, kind of like the kobe 9 & 10 elites.

I haven't owned any primeknit basketball sneakers so I was going by what the ultra boost felt like, or hoping for something similar.

Aw man, that sucks.  Gonna have to check them out in stores to see how they feel.

I guess the fit isn't as snug as one would imagine.

Skip to the 3 minute mark to hear about the primeknit.

Fit wise, I think if you sized down on the mesh you could probably do so with the primeknit as well.

I have the halloweens and went true to size and they fit perfect.

I sized down on the knits and my toe pretty close to touching the toe box.

I'd suggest trying them on if you can though, as the material isn't as flexible and soft as it should be.

Rose 6 Boost Review:

Hello, I just got 2 pairs of the Rose 6 namely the PrimeKnit Borealis and the Pure Mesh Black. each felt different than the other so here is my personal findings.

Fit : personally they fit TTS for a wide footer like me. the PrimeKnit gives a little bit more comfort due to the material being a bit stretchable but nothing that would tear off or would loosen overtime as far as my experience with PrimeKnit goes.  the space is very much just right as to how my toes go which is only a few mm away and the wideness is perfect. the pure mesh on the otherhand is a perfect-snug fit for those looking for a more contained feel. the extra padding did help a lot to achieve this and it felt great.

Traction : surprisingly, I didn't expect these to really perform excellently but they did. this is due to my experience with the Crazy Lights 2015 which was very much average and got me sliding after a few uses and in dusty courts. the traction really sticks even in dirty floors. I even laugh at the guy wearing a set of Kobe X's tumbling over during a footrace on a looseball as we both dove for it. I was surprised to keep my balance and my footing during that sequence as the shoe kept me glued to the floor.

Materials : definitely well-made and much better than what Nike has to offer. not sure what the others are complaining about the Primeknit though. must be a mental thing.

Comfort : Pillow Soft and Knee-friendly. for someone who has old legs/knees, these shoes are a must and cannot find a better alternative.

Cushion : Best. although I'm not sure what the others are complaining about the forefoot, but for someone who had used the CL2015 (Adiprene+), RG3 Boost, EVA, AIR, MAXAIR, and Zoom, these felt better. probably maybe they are looking for the Zoom Air feel which is different than the Boost feel, but it doesn't mean that there isn't a response. I feel it.

Overall, this is a perfect shoe for this year and I believe Adidas did it right this time where Nike has gone the opposite.

Just got mine

Tried it on the store, the cushion is so comfie. But I feel the ankle area not fully covered, as if this shoes is low-top.

I just have to feel it on court to make sure.

I gotta admit these look doper than i expected, I'm in love with the looks. After ordering they came after almost 3 weeks(Saturday), they came Friday, although the shipper ''did not have info on the package. What do you guys think?
As far as performance, im not very impressed. I have done 3-4 workouts so far, and through 2 or 3 of them i had pain on my right foot, but that's not that bad, i'd call it breaking in. The lockdown is decent. I went half size up as always, and i felt like those fit perfectly, honestly i haven't had a better fit on any shoe. Ventilation is decent also. I didn't feel the whole sacrificing of courtfeel.
Now i gotta ask your guy's opinion or something. The boost. Maybe since that's my first boost EVER, i had high expectations. But i just confirmed this, and upon just touching the sole of the shoes, i cannot make a big difference between the MicroG foam on my UA ClutchfitDrive1. The heel is notably more plush, whereas the forefoot i felt like there was no difference or that even MicroG was more plush there. Now i don't know if that's a valid ''test'', but I'm asking you guys.

Now, is that really what i should have got from the shoe?

Does the foam need more playing time so it gets more responsive/comfortable? (Because touching the visible boost from the outside is nothing compared to what's on the inside. Touching the visible boost from the outside... that **** feels plush/responsive/bouncy as hell)
Should i try and break them in more by playing once without the default insoles of the shoes?
Maybe take that insole out, put some other insole in?
I would love to hear that there is a small problem here, just so my hype is justified for the boost.
I'd be happy to hear a couple of comments/solutions/opinions/maybe share your experience so i can compare?
Dunno if you've already played in yours and it's too late, but I would take them back.  I had a similar thing going on with the 1st version of Rose 6s I bought.  I had the Home colorway, and the heel felt great, forefoot felt meh.  I thought maybe playing in them would make them better, but I couldn't get out of my head all the reviews of how amazing they were just from trying them on.  Although I played and they got a little better, they weren't mind blowing like people were saying.  As luck would have it (as funny as that sounds) my lace loop ripped and the sole also tore (to where there was literally a split in the outsole from only 3 weeks of indoor play).  I returned them and tried on the Away colorway: the Boost was INSANE.  I instantly went with those, they exchanged them, and couldn't be happier, exactly as everyone described.  It was literally like a different shoe.  To be fair, everyone is right:  it is NOT Zoom.  However, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about because I went through the same thing as far as forefoot responsiveness.  Trust me, you have a defective pair.  While not EXACTLY like Zoom, they're still miles better IMO.  The closest experience I can think of is when I first tried on the 20-5-5 or the Air Max 360.  Yes, THAT good (imo).

In short, I think there may be some faulty pairs floating around.  From the lace loop issue, to the sole issue, all the way to the Boost not feeling nearly as good as in the pair I have now, I would stick with either the Primeknits or the Away colorways.  From trying those on in the store (before getting the Aways), the Boost felt CORRECT in those.  I haven't tried a Home colorway on since my defective pair, but this is just from observation.

Thank you very much for pointing that out... im getting crazy over it now, because i cant help but feel ripped off.
That information gets in my face a lot lately. Somehow two of my friends have a BETTER pair of D rose 6s. Which i guess you can imagine how it makes me feel. And i have talk with people besides that on forums, and now even here it got confirmed for sure. So i did email Adidas, on their customer support email and explained the situation. Some time has passed, this is my first experience with adidas overall, so i dont even know what should i expect. Which will probably scar me for a lifetime if it turns out they dont care for their customers..
Hopefully i can get another pair, or a regular prime knit, or at least refund. Because honestly the shoes right now only look cool in my room, but i have not paid ******** of money for Customized shoes, just so they look good, i expected the performance MORE. The performance was more important.. i cant put em on for 10 minutes without pain.
So should i presume everytime D Rose steps on court with a new pair, he has the same problem? I dont think so

this sounds more logical. forgive me for askin, but what kind did you get that is defective? it's too bad that you got yourself a lemon, but with everything being built in China nowadays, it's no wonder that we get these sorts of stuff. this goes with everything else, not just shoes nor limited to one brand.

I mean **** happens, i get it, but i hope they at least make up for it with something - be a refund or a replacement.
They were customized d rose 6 home editions. The ones with the mesh upper, not the synthetic leather or the other ones. And also, im in UK currently, so they are ordered from Uks site, not from USA's(dont know if it makes any difference)

I just received an email from their support team, offering me a refund, saying boost should not feel hard etc. What do you guys think i should do? Should i get another identical pair hoping its all going to be as promised next time? Would you advice me towards another better performing shoe, although i thought this shoe was all around best shoe of all damn time, haha.
Is it possible that im not able to like differentiate? Maybe the boost NEEDED time to break in? Maybe im just expecting it to be more amazing, because of all the hype. Can i somehow test it, test it BETTER for sure?(like maybe how it feels when you try to push your fingers in the forefoot or heel?) Or can actually someone describe in detail to the best of their abilities how it literally feels. What would you guys advice me? Cuz honestly i just want to be wrong, since i dont want to wait weeks for a new pair(although it might be better yes) But i'd really appreciate if someone could spend 5-10 minutes for me so my mind is at ease

first, they should not feel hard. you should feel like you are walking on pillows. you should know you have it right if you feel this. second, have it another go, besides you shouldn't worry considering you would get a refund or replacement. it doesn't matter if it's customized or not since the cushion is Boost all the same. I know it could be that challenging to try something like these hoop shoes in the U.K. or even see one in store, but if you get a chance to try other copies or versions, then it's a must. try wearing the CL Boost 2015 or Lillards or Bounce for Boost comparisons and see what's different from your actual perspective. but if you are going to ask other people about Boost, I believe the general perspective is as described.
