Tidal Streaming!!

He has a point that they need time to grow; and also that there are a lot of big money interests who stand to benefit from Tidal's failure. If the artist gets 75% royalties from Tidal that's a huge change in the usual model for what the artist gets.

If Tidal succeeds, it has the chance to set a huge precedent of the artist getting more than the label. People at these labels have been getting rich off of artist publishing for decades so they have huge incentive to make sure Jay's streaming service fails. So all these Complex, whatever blog articles popping up proclaiming Tidal's failure already should be looked at with a suspicious eye.

u know you failed when you got to justify yourself on Twitter

this is all i was thinking. jay z is famously anti-twitter. he prides himself on posting less than 10 times a year. all the sudden hes gotta defend himself....

beyond that. 75% royalties? 75% of what? u aint slick n****. If you set the royalty at .003 cents per play... then yes artists get 75% which would be .00225 cents per play. its up to jay and the owners how much a royalty is since theres no set standard on internet streaming. bravo for effort trying to throw numbers around tho

If Jay wants small, unrenowned artist to succeed, give them 100% royalties plus some kind of signing incentive. If not, he ain't nothing more than a hill of beans.

Jay-Z tweets twice a year, and suddenly has to pile all this on today   all of that sounds like regular salesmanship to hold people over until Jay and his crew figure out out to fix this problem

I think I'm going to stick with spotify.

It streams from all my devices already. I'm not about to jump around a bunch of different apps and services just to listen to music. I'll stick to what I have

Dudes really want Jay-Z to lose

but then in the same breath they'll talk about his percentage in the company

Did I say he lied?

The tweet was corny
If you knew how much money and talent they are In Nigerian music, you wouldn't think the tweet was corny. Plus Jay-z has a big influence in the world so for him to say he is looking for Nigerian artist he already get a lot of support from Nigerians that live in America.

Bruh I'm not ******** on Nigeria and I know about Nigerian entertainment. Majority of the music played at the African parties I go to is Nigerian. Their movie industry is crazy even tho they recycle the same damn actors

I just don't like the tweet in his campaign of tweets of selling tidal to the public. That is all

As opposed to the 70% that's already given it's not a "huge" change

Puffy out Harlem shaking somewhere.

If he truly is in it for the long haul he can certainly get some of that pie.

Dr Dre though.. the most innovative and business oriented modern day renaissance man for real. Dude made the enter and exit in markets before hardly any competition
