Anyone watch this Scientology documentary last night?

Well done documentary. I have still not met a Scientologist.

Word I've always thought about that, this church got crazy money and influence but no presence outside of Southern Call, though i do remember seeing a church in SF somewhere.

One interesting tidbit about the doc that was left out and really is probably the most damning is the leader of Scientology wife disappeared a few years ago and hasn't been seen in public. Alot of formers members have come out and demanded a investigation, but nothing has come of it.

When my boy was in the Coast Guard he was stationed in Clearwater, FL and he said tge church almost all the real estate downtown. I just want to meet a Scientologist or even a former Scientologist. I got mad questions

Those ppl own city blocks blocks in Clearwater , I mean actual city blocks of real estate. They even had their hands in that Terri Shaivo mess from a yrs ago. You don't want to meet an active member because you would, have to come to blows to get away from them

Just watched it today, they're all blind followers.
Which person of any religion isn't though?

Living in Los Angeles I have had encounters with people who are in the church. These are individuals who I assume are still at the lower levels though because of their financial status. This documentary was a good look into their world. If any of you are interested I'd recommend looking on YouTube. There are quite a few mini-docs that go into details of things that weren't covered. I remember when Anyonomous declared a war on them years ago.

just watched. crazy as all hell man. These people were insane to subject themselves to this bs. absolutely unbelievable. And so many big names associated with it. i remember will and jada were on board too. no different those all of those folks on the Kabbalah wave a couple years ago.

They're doing anything to doubt God. Even believing in aliens that want your money lol. k.

I think there was a scientology infomation office on my brother's campus. I should've told him to check it out.

UCB had a fun sketch on their show about "The Church of Psychotonomy"

It's not on youtube, but it's really funny from what I remember.

they left out the good stuff, thr actual rituals.
The greater mystery is the Aleister Crowley stuff, the true Bohemian magic. They were practicing witch craft. Scientology now seems like an church organization. I have to finish watching it. I wonder what they do to suck you in.

That Parsons/JPL connection in the beginning was nuts. I live close to JPL. :nerd:

Very disturbing documentary, but it was also eye opening.

Good topic on Reddit:

Even better watch. Imagine the dirt they have on Tom Cruise, Travolta (everyone knows he's ayo anyway), and Fresh Prince.

You watch other religious documentaries and you see similarities. Especially Miscavage parallels, there's always that guy that takes it bigger, in his direction, ie the apostle Paul.

These people are BUGGIN.

I feel like modern organized religion started out like this too. Maybe in 2,000 years this will be some mainstream stuff. I certainly hope not.

Give it some time and they'll begin to tailor it to sound more "believable". They'll also effectively sweep the more unbelievable content under the rug.

That unbelievable content doesn't come out till you're years/thousands in and by that time people are in deep. I don't really care for the Xenu story, just another story from a Sci-Fi author. I'm more disturbed at the mental games they play and how children are treated.

Correct. By then it's "well prove to me that it didn't happen" as the argument for its truth.

How rich are these dudes at the top?. And what's the word on dudes wife?.

Gotta say, if I learned anything these past short years in life is that you don't **** with billionaires. That dude off the other HBO doc is gonna beat that murder charge, I just know it.

Dude was most def a wackjob and a compulsive liar. He used his writings, insane sayings and his "religion" as medication.

Extreme grave dig but I just watched the doc and I agree heavily with this post.

Hubbard wasn't just a typical con man. He was a schizo who was able to externalize his mental illness and his sci-fi creativity into his religion. I think he had a grasp of how crazy he was, but the problem is that he used his craziness to deal with his craziness

Yo , this is the 20th century's version of Mormonism. I was on a flight last week, bout 25 18-19 year olds going to Salt Lake City for two weeks before being dispersed across the world for TWO YEARS on a 'mission'. That mission consists solely of spreading the word of The Book of Morman... Some **** that was created in the 19th century. All expenses paid by the Church, super strict rules, completely ridiculous.

Dude sitting next to me said he'll be knocking on doors in ATL for two years..."don't even know what I'm gonna say to people."

Straight brainwashing.

The Master is a great movie loosely based on/inspired by scientology. I highly recomend to watch for anyone that hasnt.
