Why do people attack comedians..for being comedians?

 I thought every tweet was funny.

but

:smh: @ those ppl trying to hate calling him anti-semitic and racist and sexist. Have these fools ever seen what Jon Stewart has said? Trying to pretend like they ever watched the Daily Show or is that it's only okay when you're making fun of politicians?

I hope these tweets get just enough attention that Trevor does a segment on the Daily show next week pretending to apologize but mocks and makes fun of even more ppl

people have become more and more PC in the past 15 years

there would be no Eddie Murphy Chris Rock and many others if people where this damn uptight in th mid to late 80's

Funny I was just hearing on xm somewhere that comedians hate doing college campus' because they are the most insulted by the jokes and everything has to be politically correct. Honestly I went to see jim Norton last year and people were actually pissed about the toilet jokes he was saying. Like you go to a comedy show to be entertained and if it makes you uncomfortable than move along, the best comics insult everyone including themselves

Yup. People on some campuses go as far as to complain to the school if certain comedians are suppose to be performing there.

The issue here is context. What Jamie Foxx said was a joke that wasn't meant to be hurtful or to denigrate Bruce. The people in that frat singing that Black people can hang from a tree but they'll never been part of their frat organization wasn't a joke. So the black chick being upset in this instance isn't hypocritical.

And the fact that somebody would even make the connection between Jamie Foxx joking around and these southern SAE dudes basically performing hate speech blows my mind. Seriously?

This wasn't malicious, it was a joke. There was nothing here about hurting the guy, or how being transgendered is wrong, it was just a comical viewpoint of the process of going from a man to a woman. If anybody watched the bieber roast yesterday, there were a ton of jokes about black people and nobody is getting their panties in a bunch about it. There's alot of legitimate causes for protest out there but this isn't one of them. This social media outrage **** can be so goofy sometimes man.

Exactly

All I do is chuckle at blacks being brought up in all these things

Reminds me of offensive costumes, like the guy dressed as a Virginia Tech victim, or especially the guy dressed as ray rice with the blow up doll trailing him on the ground. Like I said earlier, people find stuff funny until it hits close to home and dances on their insecurities or sensitive spots. It's hard [impossible] to draw a line as to determine what's inappropriate and what's just in good fun. Someone could easily say that dressing up as any dead person or victim is tasteless and they would be right within their opinion.

You can tell a lot about a person by what they laugh at. What they've been through, how twisted they are, how smart they are...the list is endless.

How about those people dressed up as Bloody Boston Runners on Halloween... do you consider that distasteful?

this is the softest generation by design....

It's all part of the feminist agenda.

This generation really does suck. Not even debatable

The list of not just shows but consumable media overall that wouldn't be acceptable today is a looooooooooooong one
I blame the internet. Srs. It makes it easier for people to whine about things they dislike and actually be heard.

Agreed.
These .most of the times these days I'm shaking my head at my generation.

@Hawaii 50, personally, yes, I do. It fits in the same category as the other examples I listed. An actual tragic event is too far imo.

People dont realize this and its sad.

So many comedians joke about pedophilia and that garbage will NEVER be funny

The reality of any atrocity is never funny but in the context of a joke it can be hilarious. Its not a given but there's definitely rape, paedophilia and racist jokes that i've found funny in the past..

It's all in the intention and delivery.

I can't believe "**** shaming" is a thing :smh: I saw things going downhill when folks started talmbout cyber bullying. So glad I grew up in a home where everybody roasted.

This generation is soft, I miss HT

Nothing wrong with a healthy roast session

Every joke offends someone.

If someone doesn't like it than just don't listen to Jamie foxx anymore.
Simple as at. People crying outrage for no reason. Someone's always going to be offended. This is stupid.
If people are mad at this then they shouldn't have any right to watch any of the comedies ever...cause someone is going to get made fun of. They should be equal across the board and get mad at any joke about anyone cause it's probably hurting someone's feelings.

This generation does seem to be overly soft at times and the Internet does give people an outlet to express themselves and reach an audience they once wouldn't have access too.

However, that audience can just ignore the complaining and politically correctness and not take it seriously, and not care if others get offended off petty things if they choose to as well.

This generation is soft because they tech not to "bully" (subjective term) but not how to deal. This is the "participation medal!" Generation. These people are taught that nothing is their fault, it's everyone else. Once that rug is pulled out from underneath them they have 0 skills to deal with the repercussions

If I were them I'd be complaining about how corny those jokes were instead of how offensive they were. Except for the proposal one. That was kind of a good one

All of those were garbage... :smh:

If you miss the mark of funny then all you are left with is an offensive comment.
