Seems like a dope trip fam. Glad you had a blast.
Question 1- did you guys have a translater?
Question 2- what kinda food did you eat?
Question 3 - where can I cop that hat?

can you PM me some tips ? i wanna push for a vacation here but wifey is not having it .. the pyramids and sphinx always intrigued me since i was a kid.

great pics...nice place to take a significant other..

just curious...what was budget looking like? How much is enough to do whatever you can/want to do over there without thinking twice about not spending too much?

my fiance felt a little iffy about it at first. honestly I felt safe everywhere I went. We stayed at a family owned hotel. They have ties to the US too which made me more comfortable. I would Def recommend tripadvisor for info and tips.

I def want to go to Egypt as I'm a huge history nerd. My problem is that it's very dangerous for American tourists. While I do have an EU passport as well, my American accent is a dead give away. I know that ti's a bit more stable since the military coupe took over the government, but I don't know if I'd feel safe going out there right now being Caucasian.

We paid about 930. Each. Includes round trip flight/hotel and travel insurance. Also includes our pyramid view room. Thats for 5 nights/6 days in total. We stayed at the Guardian Guest House

We booked through expedia and when I saw that price I jumped in it. Make sure u book a few months in advanced and always look around at different times of the year to go. We went in October.

We paid about $100 each extra for round trip flights from Cairo to Luxor.
also booked tours of Cairo and luxor. That was an additional $150 each I believe for 3 full days of touring. That included a driver and egytpologist guide.

The USD goes far out there. We got $7 Egyptian pounds for every US dollar.

We didn't have a translator but some days we did have a tour guide that purchased our site tickets and everything for us. Our guides and most of the hotel staff spoke great english.

We tried some local Egyptian food (koshery) as well as falafels and some cool bean spread that they had for us for breakfast. The egyptian bread that local markets sell is great too. few times we ate dominos pizza lol.

The hat I copped from RocNSole in brooklyn. It's a rocnation snapback.

Did you hear any stories or legends about the deities?  Just in line w/ that scientology dude who went to Egypt, and had a 'vision'.

Do the camels smell bad? LOL

Nice pics.

Yea our guides gave us great history about each site that we visited.

Haha a few people have told me about the camel smell but I didn't notice it when I was there.

Good stuff, OP. :smokin

Egypt is one of the places I've always wanted to travel to. :smokin

For those that are unsure of going to Cairo directly check out Hurghada instead. Its a tourist city located on the Red Sea. Super safe and you can enjoy the great waters out there as well. If you stay at any of the hotels out there, they offer excursions to see all of the attractions. They are about $50-$250 pp depending on where you want to go and what you want to do. Cairo is usually a 2 day trip. Everything is done with a tour guide and is planned out before hand. Tons of stuff to see and do out there. I have honestly felt less safe walking around in some parts of NYC,SF, DR, Miami than I did at any time while I was in Cairo or Hurghada. As long as you use common sense you shouldn't have any issues. Oh and never take "free gifts" from anyone at any attractions  and always agree upon a price before you get on a camel.

I am definitely planning on going back again one day :pimp:

Haha yes great tips. Also if you have a student ID you can get discounts of up to 50% at all the attraction sites

I always thought Egypt still had its issues even for going on vacation. Was there any signs of just things that seemed sketchy? I want to go there to just to see a damn Pyramid. It seems like a photographers dream to go shoot there. Looks like a lot of fun.
