what is hate towards overweight/fat/obese people? vol. new category of hate

people like aesthetically good looking things, its human nature

someone will get a job for being "better" looking than the same candidate who isnt as "good" looking

This is how I got my first job.

The manager came right out and said "one of the reasons I hired you is because you are very good looking."

It was a sales job btw.

i used to be pretty overweight until I started working out 5-6 days a week last year. still have some fat to lose in my midsection but I gained a lot of muscle and strength quickly.

Being fat used to be very uncommon several generations ago because food wasn't that readily available. Now there are so many calorie-dense foods you can consume within minutes of getting in your car. On top of that, the environment of "work" for people nowadays consists of being in an office and sitting in front of a computer 8 hours a day.

It really is a sad problem that people are only ambulatory by wheelchair. However, they choose to do that because they don't see themselves ever losing weight and choose to keep packing it on. I don't think it is right to hate them, it should be in our society's best interests to prevent and reduce obesity. I read an article recently that doctors and nurses in the O.R. are starting to have injury problems from routinely lifting patients weighing over 300 lbs.

I used to eat a lot of food in one sitting. Now I avoid greasy foods as much as possible and the only unhealthy snack I buy for myself are baked chocolate-chip cookies from Giant Eagle. If it were up to me, I would have the food industry completely dismantled to stop having these excessive sugary and salty foods available. Fresh food is so much better tasting.

Everyone in here saying fat people disgusting probably got a fat loved one. How would you feel if somebody treated them bad cause they fat?
True, my mom is on the heavy side even to be 5'7 but she also had 4 kids, before she had us, my mom is probably one of the top 5 hottest mom's on nt, no incest

no idea. im fat. i know i am. im at peace with it sorta. ive always been fat. always. HOWEVER, to combat the stereotype, ive always been active. as a kid i spent hours skateboarding, then had a aggressive inline skating phase, then a bmx phase, then back to skateboarding. i was playing in leagues for basketball all the time. football team. even tried baseball for a season. i was extremely active growing up. EXTREMELY. but. my diet sucked. but not the way u guys are thinking. i never ate enough. ive never in my entire life had a healthy appetite. ive gone 90% of my life skipping breakfast every day (eating early makes me feel sick) and if i eat lunch, its some trash like mcdonalds or something... then dinner will be at 9pm which could be a good meal or trash. but i typically dont get hungry, i just drink alot.

im committing to losing weight starting this month because carrying the weight while i hoop is holding me back honestly. i want to run faster and jump higher. and when i hoop (usually on weekends now since im fulltime) i go for hours at a time. id say i average about 3 hours a day on saturday and sunday of basketball. i want to look good for my wedding this august and the honeymoon. my genetics SUCK. but my eating habits (or lack thereof) got me here. from what i understand my body is always in starvation mode, and when i do eat...its not healthy food per se. but please... dont assume that all fat people are gluttons who cant stop eating. just wanted to drop my 2 cents.

oh and srs. just incase yall dont believe me

They are the reason health care costs are so high, and the reason it is easier to find a mcdonalds than a library.

no. the reason its easier to find a mcdonalds than a library boils down to america's priorities...and capitalism. but carry on and attribute it to fat people lol

Healthcare is high because we're being taxed low
Compared to our European counterparts and the gov is not pouring money into healthcare.

no. the reason is because fat people have their priorities jumbled (big mac > healthy food), and succumb to the pressures of "fast food capitalism"

Big PUN and The Notorious BiG ladies and gentlemen

Repped

I have lil story too

Sometime when i was working at my old job between November 2011 and September 2013 I had a fat boss. Like big pun fat. Dude was 6 3 and at least 500 pounds

And at the time I was skinnier than I am now. And one day he starts talkin about how skinny I was. Then this lady with a fat gut joins in and they both talking smack

My boss talkin about how I need to eat more to gain weight. Yet im sitting here thinking really? Out of all people?

I knew if I would have said something about them being fat I would been looked at as being mean or some ****

It just seems like all the fat people talk the most crap
More libraries than McDonalds and Americans still rely on them according to new Pew Research study
nah b.... don't blame capitalism
u dont read well. i said

"no. the reason its easier to find a mcdonalds than a library boils down to america's priorities...and capitalism. but carry on and attribute it to fat people lol"

i didnt say that theres more mcdonalds than libraries. and of course AMERICANS (not just fat people) rely on them is cuz like me, they skip making breakfast at home and pick it up on the go quickly. convenience. McDonald's is a problem for AMERICANS, not fat people. which was my point. You're going to sit here and say they keep building mcdonalds on every corner cuz only fat people like fast food? and capitalism IS 1 of the 2 reasons. why do u think millionaires own FAST FOOD joints? which do  uthink is more profitable? a library or mcdonalds on a corner? be serious.
no. the reason is because fat people have their priorities jumbled (big mac > healthy food), and succumb to the pressures of "fast food capitalism"
incorrect.

" In the U.S., the adult obesity rate is 27.7%  thus far in 2014. This compares with the 27.1% average in 2013 -- the highest annual rate Gallup and Healthways have measured since beginning to track obesity in 2008"

u think...McDonalds is successful because only 27% of the population eats there? cmon now TJ. fast food capitalism? u just gonna go and start making up s*** right? and if there were healthy fast food places, im sure business would be booming. but there arent.

What's your argument? You lost me.

Fast food capitalism

If you're fat, know if, and are content so be it. I've got no problems with that. That's a personal choice. My problem is with fat people pushing the agenda that fat=/=unhealthy. That you can live a healthy lifestyle by not dieting and being active. Essentially pushing the message that being unhealthy is okay.

u said the reason its easier to find a mcdonalds than a library is "the reason is because fat people have their priorities jumbled (big mac > healthy food), and succumb to the pressures of "fast food capitalism"" so ur saying theres a lot of mcdonalds because fat people have their priorities messed up. i responded saying overweight people make up 27% of the population. there is no way that a business can THRIVE like mcdonalds by capturing 27% of the market.

to simplify... youre wrong. fat peoples' priorities are not why there is a mcdonalds on every other corner. AMERICA has a fast food problem. dont single out fat people to explain why a chain like mcdonalds is profitable everywhere. and that link says fast food AND capitalism. there is no such thing as fast food capitilism

You "can" be but its a serious outlier. Just like people who smoke and drink everyday and live to be 100. It hapopens but it's highly unlikely

But you can be. Just like being thin doesn't mean you're healthy.

I understand that, but simply being a live doesn't equate to being healthy. It's about quality of life in terms of health as well

I absolutly agree, but again, there are outliers for the scenario. That's all I'm saying really. I'm not talking about the 300lb bedridden people either

I knew an old man who smoked almost constantly. Never was sick, still was strong, ect. His "quality" of life was fine I thiught. Stuff happens

That's true I'm sure there's anamolies but you wouldn't advocate becoming a smoker based on this one guy as an example right? Same goes for fat people.
