and now u understand why its hard. and like i said a couple pages back... im VERY active. i actually look forward to running and hooping and swimming etc etc. i even went on a "diet" last year. but its not what u think. i went to a dietitian to fix my eating habits. she made me eat like 6 times a day. it was ridiculously hard. way too much food. HAd to eat every 3 hours starting at 7am. and i had to eat A LOT in every meal. in the end i couldn't keep up with how much she wanted me to eat. id be hooping or running, and would have to stop to eat 16 baby carrots and hummus and 2 oranges. i f**king hated it.

Every time I start noticing unsightly chub I drastically scale down my proportions and start hooping again.

Has not failed me once. Im actually trying to gain weight so I can have that A1 body for Cancun next spring break

You're cheating yourself.

You can't possible be this "active" and way 300+ unless your eating habits are really that terrible.

I can't follow your posts.. 6 meals a day? Eat a lot per meal? Diet? Doesn't make sense

once u said metabolism plays a certain role, i knew u have no idea what ur talking about. ur metabolism is 100% in control of your weight. its the reason why some people have to eat every 15 minutes and are fit. why some dont eat enough but are fat. why some people eat and are hungry 10 minutes later. metabolism is the key. if someone has a fast metabolism it is physically impossible to be fat for instance.

and losing a major amount of weight is indeed hard. think of it this way. how many miles do u run a day? now how much do you weigh? do you ever have cramps in your foot or shin splints after running or a hard workout? imagine how FAST a shin split comes for a person weighing 300lbs running a couple miles a day. imagine how much weight that person has to move with every step compared to you. everything a fat person does takes exponentially more effort than it does for a fit person. think of a pushup, who has it harder? you, or the person trying to push 300lbs? a pull up? who has to work harder to swim?

the best weapon a fat person has against obesity is their diet. but dont downplay how hard it is for someone to lose weight especially when u have no idea what ur talking about

i peeped but i let it go lol. im 350 but im still running fast and clapping backboard. bout to pick up skateboarding again too. bedridden is in that 500+ territory. altho i do recognize people "Wear" their weight differently.
yea definitely, I'm in the 300 range and am not bedridden, not even close .

I don't hate fat people, but I hate how acceptable it is to be overweight.
True.
It's unhealthy. Being obese leads to diabetes and hypertension. Our bodies aren't built to carry that much weight. Puts too much stress on the body.
I used to hate Monique though and how she would defend her obesity like it was ok to risk your health. I think America has like a 30% obesity rate. That's ridiculous

Its not as easy as some people think.

Really and turly if you've never had to lose a substantial amount out weight, you really shouldn't talk.

If you woke up tomorrow 350 lbs, you'don the same **** other fat people be on.

Eat less...
I see nowadays people get hungry and act like they are starving. Being hungry is ok. You don't need to be full all the time. Once you start eating less your stomach shrinks and you will get full with less food.
Imo I've seen so many people fail at dieting and it's all mental. They don't think they can do it so they quit.

And for those of you trying to burn off calories...it's far more important to just eat less.
I guarantee you all of you count your calories and don't go over your limit...everyday. You will lose weight. There's no secret to it.
And I disagree with cheat days too.. That Is just taking steps backwards.

A lot of people want to lose weight but don't want to put in the work to do it. It's not easy..but nothing worth a damn ever is.

ill just paste my post from the other page. and she put me on that diet because essentially im permanently on starvation mode. i have no appetite. until recently, i ate one maybe twice a day. and when i did eat, it was either trash or not the healthiest option. so to speed up my metabolism, i had to eat A LOT. my breakfast on that diet would be something like 6 eggs, an apple, bottle of water, 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter. next meal would be a "snack" of 16 baby carrots, 3 spoonfuls of hummus, a banana. etc etc

no idea. im fat. i know i am. im at peace with it sorta. ive always been fat. always. HOWEVER, to combat the stereotype, ive always been active. as a kid i spent hours skateboarding, then had a aggressive inline skating phase, then a bmx phase, then back to skateboarding. i was playing in leagues for basketball all the time. football team. even tried baseball for a season. i was extremely active growing up. EXTREMELY. but. my diet sucked. but not the way u guys are thinking. i never ate enough. ive never in my entire life had a healthy appetite. ive gone 90% of my life skipping breakfast every day (eating early makes me feel sick) and if i eat lunch, its some trash like mcdonalds or something... then dinner will be at 9pm which could be a good meal or trash. but i typically dont get hungry, i just drink alot.

im committing to losing weight starting this month because carrying the weight while i hoop is holding me back honestly. i want to run faster and jump higher. and when i hoop (usually on weekends now since im fulltime) i go for hours at a time. id say i average about 3 hours a day on saturday and sunday of basketball. i want to look good for my wedding this august and the honeymoon. my genetics SUCK. but my eating habits (or lack thereof) got me here. from what i understand my body is always in starvation mode, and when i do eat...its not healthy food per se. but please... dont assume that all fat people are gluttons who cant stop eating. just wanted to drop my 2 cents.

oh and srs. just incase yall dont believe me

Sometimes "being active" isnt enough. And by being active I mean various forms or cardio. You'd be surprised at quickly your body can adapt and normalize itself when repeatedly subjected to the same level of activity over and over. Before I lost a lot of weight I was still hooping and bike riding just fine. If you've got a high fat percentage the best way to tackle it is with weight training. Building muscle burns calories and maintaining muscle burns calories. Get yourself on a dedicated weight training program you'll notice the difference a lot faster and a lot longer than just dieting and playing basket ball or some other form of cardio.

Coming from a guy that was fat growing up, skinny in high school/college and then put on weight (fat) after college. I've been weight training both cutting and bulking for a good two years now and I weigh almost as much I did at my fattest with significantly less fat. Fat loss > weight loss

and if this is directed at me thanks but im good on advice. i know what i have to do. my problem is strictly diet. im eating 3 meals a day now so ive improved. i need to increase it to 3 meals and 2 "snacks" a day. remove the bread from my diet. remove "fake" foods from my diet. there was a point when i was at ucf, i dropped 30lbs in 2 months eating straight trash. but i was eating 5 times a day since i had unlimited meals at the cafeteria lol. my lack of appetite/diet has been my achilles heel. im off making excuses tho. making that change now so i can look like i feel.

Just giving my perspective coming from a similar past. Never ate breakfast, and didn't eat often but when I did it was crap and empty calories. The weight really snuck up on me. The problem I have with just dieting is you have to keep doing it. The second you slip out of it you start gaining weight again. And I enjoy food entirely way too much. Hence why weight training a long with some cardio and proper nutrition was the way to go for me.

Edit: I also eat clean during cutting.

It's simple

Not entirely true. If you're coming from a place where your metabolism isn't keeping up eating 5-6 SMALL meals a day trains your metabolism to be active more frequently through out the day

all love. yea, my new job feeds us breakfast and lunch. so i only have to go home and take care of 1 or 2 meals. i really dont enjoy eating lol so we differ in that regard. i tell u one thing tho.. what never gets old is the faces people make when i do activities. everybody on the local courts knows me and my game now, but every year when the newbies and freshmen come they all get killed cuz they dont expect it. ultimate sleeper status lol. they slack off wondering why im at the 3 then i start raining em. they assume all i can do is shoot since im fat then i start driving bein explosive with a handle and they have no idea what to do

one time i came out of my class 2 years ago. a kid was rollin on his bike trying to do a flatland trick called a firehydrant. he was scared and wasn't doin it correct. please imagine his face when my big *** came and said let me show u how to do it and i nailed it first try.

precisely. and as i mentioned, my body is on permanent starvation mode right now. my metabolism is a -2. but its slowly speeding up now. but everyone swears they know lol. because of my weight, i have to eat ALOT of calories to hit the recommended mark, then burn even more of them off, PER DAY. if my metab was up, i could be like yall and just do whatever as long as its within reason.

Like I said my man I was in the same exact position a few years back. And it's also the reason why i say lifting is the way to go. When weight training the goal is build muscle. When you're in the gym sweating putting up the weight you're burning calories. When you're living life or asleep and the muscle is growing you're burning calories. When the muscle comes in your body is burning calories literally just because the muscles are there and exist. It's recommended that you take anywhere from .5 to 1 gram of protein a day to maintain muscle growth. You know what comes with eating that much protein? A sh*t ton of calories. You're meeting your calorie requirements as well as burning a significantly larger amount of calories while doing it. More than enough to burn fat while you're doing it.

And just as an fyi when I say putting on muscle I don't mean body building or anything like that. That takes specific exercises, specific diets all together. I feel like a lot of people get intimidated by lifting because they feel like that's the goal when it's not. Not directed at you in particular just saying that in general.

The two big meals sounds like Intermittent Fasting.

I personally dislike overweight people. I was once overweight and it was because I was lazy with no self control. As a human being I feel your body should be at the highest priority in your life. The human body is capable of amazing things if properly taken care of yet most people can't even functionally move between destinations. I don't hate them but I see the wasted potential.
