That ump was brutal. Strike zone was all over the place. Some of those strikes were at the ankles. Disappointing game to score in the first and just die off. Back to the Rangers game.

Hip Hip Jorge apologized to ARod, claims he was cornered into giving that answer.

I hope the Captain never decides to write a tell all about his feelings and emotions. :smh:

I'd read a tell all by him about his extra curricular activities with half of New York's female population.

Including the evolution of the gift baskets

There's a few moves we need to make to be contenders.

1. We need Starting Pitching Depth. Not only do I mean going out to get someone in the trade market. But expanding to 6 starters when Ivan Nova gets back from TJ in what seems like mid-July after the All Star Break.

We don't need an Ace, we just need a middle of the rotation guy.

I know what you are thinking.... Cole Hamels. But considering how much Amaro typically asks for his players, and the 3 years left after this one ($6 mil buyout in the 4th year), it makes it a bit tougher. Not to mention he is regressing. Although even with that **** team, he doesn't seem like the pitcher he was.

Where we should go is Johnny Cueto. He's on the last year of his deal. Reds have shopped him before. Need to drop salary because they are not going to be in it come August & September. Also his pending payday may scare them away from holding onto him. Johnny Cueto is having another solid year. My only concern is a .68 Groundball to Flyball Ratio. But nonetheless as a 3rd starter, he'd be fine for 1/2 a season to go for a title and then cross the bridge of his Free Agency.

What we have they can use: A lot of fading OF prospects (Jake Cave, Tyler Austin, Mason Williams) that could still turn it around, but also don't have the type of skill set we need with Gardner & Ellsbury basically holding it down for the foreseeable future. No way we should put a speed guy without power out in the outfield. We need Homeruns from at least 1 of the OF positions.

2. Replace Drew with a Right Handed Bat.

Pirela is just as mediocre, so no to him. Petit stinks. Drew plays great defense but he's hitting sub 200. And this has been his trend for a couple years. Joe seems convinced he's going to turn it around, but at this point he's Brendan Ryan, with occasional pop in his bat. Joe needs to know when to cut the cord on hitters and change something. But at least he's not batting second.

We need a RH bat that can produce some runs, I'm really unconcerned about the defensive aspect when 6 of the 9 positions are fielded by above average guys on defense.

The reason why it needs to be a RH bat is our order has way to many lefty bats at the bottom of the order transitioning to the leadoff guys. Drew - Gregorius - Ellsbury - Gardner. It makes us vulnerable as even our announcers have pointed at before.

3. Figure out a way to get Chris Young more at-bats with Carlos Beltran around.

Carlos Beltran has run my patience to the ground, he seems to be turning it around, but still isn't good enough for my liking. But we're stuck with him at least this season. If he doesn't have a productive May-September, have to cut him loose. Figure out a buyout where we can save some money, even if it's only a few million.

There's 127 games left. Chris Young deserves about 50-60 full games played + Pinch Hitting opportunities. He should be the only guy that gets playing time in the outfield other than Gardner, Ellsbury, Beltran. Stop throwing Garrett Jones out there in the OF.

So when Beltran rests he should be in RF. When Gardner rests he should be in LF. When Ellsbury rests either play Young in Center or move Gardner to CF and Young LF.

I still think he should start over Beltran because with the exception of hitting for contact, Young is better than Beltran in all aspects of baseball (Power, Fielding, Speed, Baserunning, and Health), but one has had a great career, and the other has just stuck around. So I get why Young isn't already getting most of Beltran's playing time.

Trade everything for Tulo. And be stuck with that yearly time bomb contract.

I don't really care about Didi's hitting. It's a concern when in conjunction with Drew. But Didi is a 9 hole guy. It's passable.

Offense is dead right now. We're ******. Pitching has been shaky again. Need Nova and Tanaka back.
