Cashman said he's willing to sit on the Trade Deadline.. I doubt he does. We may be sitting here well right now, but we need to protect ourselves a bit.

I'd love Cueto, but that price will be :wow: Might as well just wait for Free Agency if we want to add him. That's the guy I want in Free Agency, for a trade? No thanks.
Samardzija is an interesting look, but would all depend on the cost, but I'm weary of him.

But if we're going to chase somebody.. It should be Ben Zobrist. We need to get Drew out of here.

vs. Drew

AB: 213 vs 249
BA: .258 vs .181
OBP: .346 vs. .255
SLG: .423 vs .369
HR 5 vs 12 (But if Zobrist is in Yankee Stadium, he likely closes that gap)
RBI 32 vs 25
BB 30 vs 26
SO 22 vs 46

Runners on .341/.422/.593 vs. .189 / .258 / .311

He's also a Switch Hitter, so gives us more flexibility, and hits .294 / .385 against LHP.

And while Drew is a better fielder by a good amount, he still has been below Defensive WAR. If that's why we are keeping him around, he should at least be decent at it. Go get Zobrist for nothing, and make Drew the utility fielder.

a Brandon McCarthy-like trade might be better for us than a Cueto or Hamels trade...McCarthy pitched pretty well once he came to NY, just needed a change of scenery.

just pls don't traded Judge or Severino.

Do we really need it like we did last year though is the question?. Which is why I'm weary of chasing pitchers.

We have Tanaka & Pineda.
Eovaldi.
CC , Nova & Warren.

I guess you can argue what about injures. It doesn't matter because if Pineda or Tanaka go down, we're screwed.

Zobrist is a good minimalist add I think.

Maybe we can argue another bullpen arm from the right side in case we need to insert Warren into the rotation.

Judge & Severino seen untouchable to me from what I've read. You would need to offer a big name to get one of them.

i'd be cool with adding Zobrist, can play like 6 positions & is a much better hitter than Drew/Ref...

we may not need a pitcher now, but is Tanaka gonna stay healthy through October? Will the increased workload catch up to Pineda? Can you trust CC to give you a quality starts in the playoffs? it'd be nice to add a mid-level guy as insurance.

Don't want Zobrist. There's like 12 teams after him. He's gonna cost way too much and I don't think he's worth it.

Our team is fine, could use help on pitching but health and consistency is our biggest issues.

Cash isn't gonna do much. He knows how important that youth is moving forward. Prob gonna get you guys a Colon type pitcher off waivers in August. Or maybe a Mike Leake type at the deadline.

Maybe someone like Brandon Phillips could make a whole lot of sense, if we are just taking on the salary, and sending over PTBNL.

If they want anything good, they can take a walk.

I really don't care to see Stephen Drew out there anymore.

I like Zobrist more because the lack of money commitment, but if Ref is not going to play, we have to replace Drew.

Eovaldi is 1 of 4 pitchers to have a winning record in all 4 months of the season..:wow:

looking good thru 2

I'm done with this game. Yankees are going to blow it. Not gonna let this **** ruin my night.

I was shocked when I saw Eovaldi's W/L record. He still gives up too many hits, luckily he's been able to switch from a .85-.90 Ground Ball to Fly Ball ratio to a 1.05 GB to FB.

His FIP is almost a full point ahead of his ERA. So the defense hurts him, but a part of that problem is he's giving up 1.2 Hitts per inning.

Since I always think of the future If we could slot a front end rotation guy in the spot for Eovaldi next year (no way we can get a Front End guy for a good price by the 31st), and move Nate to the # 4, and CC to # 5. With our bullpen :wow:
