yeah, Girardi's style is really wearing thin on me. sucks cause he ain't going anywhere anytime soon so we gotta deal with this DRY a** style of managing :smh:

I don't think he's a bad manager.. Because he really can turn chicken salad out of chicken **** to quote Steve Austin.

But he has to realize the bats are dying, and he needs to take some bases.

And he has to realize that Nova was done for, and bring in Warren. If Warren came in and gave up a Granny nothing you can do.. It would have been the right move regardless.

I'm kind of thinking this could be the last year Nova is here, and we end up moving him. And that kind of stinks.

Here's why... The rotation is not good enough to stay as is next year.

These are possible starters.

Tanaka, Pineda, CC, Eovaldi, Nova, Severino & Warren.

- Take Warren out, keep him in the bullpen. He's better there, and it gives us depth if a guy can't get out of the 5th.
- You could move CC to a spot starter and get him 20 starts a year, BUT is Tanaka - Pineda - Eovaldi - Nova - Severino & CC really a championship caliber starting rotation? To me it isn't. Especially if our bats don't translate next season.
- We can't move CC because he's a 10/5 player. So he gets Trade Veto. We'd have to find a place he wants to go to. And pay almost all of his salary to move him.

You have Mat Latos, Mike Leake, Johnny Cueto & David Price all hitting Free Agency, and none of them would cost a pick to sign them. Also throw in Zimmerman, Kazmir, Fister & Samardzija who do cost a pick, but will also be Free Agents. We absolutely need to add a front end starter as insurance for Tanaka & Pineda. It's probably the biggest need that the team has.


In order to keep everybody. We'd have to expand to a 6 man rotation. Keep 2 of the guys in the bullpen, one as a Long Reliever, one as a middle reliever.

1 - Tanaka
2 - Pineda
3 - Free Agent
4 - Eovaldi
5 - CC
6 - Severino

Long Reliever - Nova
Middle RP - Warren
Lefty - Shreve
Lefty - Wilson
Set Up - Betances
Closer - Miller

Maybe it ends up being Warren. But Warren is a really good RP, Nova probably wouldn't be that, so if it was Warren, we still have 7 SPs, what do we do with Severino, Nova & CC.

Jays have a long road trip coming up so we should be able to put a lil more distance between us & them

but yeah we look like **** this weekend :lol:
