Disney Raises Annual Pass Prices at Walt Disney World and Disneyland

October 4, 2015, 1:16 AM · Updated throughout. Disney is raising the price of annual passes at both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts, while also changing the line-up of available passes at those resorts.
At Walt Disney World, Disney is introducing "Silver," "Gold," "Platinum" and "Platinum Plus" passes, replacing the old Florida Seasonal, Annual, Premium and Premium Plus Annual Passes.

The Silver Pass sells for $414.29. The Gold Pass sells for $584.69 and includes admission to all WDW parks, with several blockout dates. The Platinum Pass sells for $797.69 and is good every day of the year, and now throws in Photopass downloads. The Platinum Plus Pass is $882.89 and adds the water parks and ESPN Wide World of Sports admissions and Oak Trail gold course greens fees. Discounts for renewals and for Florida residents remain available.

Previously, Florida Resident Seasonal Annual Passes (closest to the new Silver AP) sold for $350.39 and Annual Passes (roughly the equivalent of the new Platinum Pass) sold for $696.51.

In addition, the cost of parking at the Walt Disney World Resort is now up to $20 per vehicle per day, up from $17.

At Disneyland, the Disney will no longer sell Premium Annual Passes, while adding Signature and Signature Plus levels. The SoCal Select Pass increases from $299 to $329. The Deluxe Pass increases from $549 from $599.
The new Signature AP costs $849, an increase from the $779 for the old Premium Pass, however the Signature Pass will be blocked out for two weeks over the Christmas holidays. The Signature Plus Pass will have no blockout dates, and costs $1,049. The two Disneyland Signature passes also now will include Photopass downloads, as well.

Parking is up $1, to $18, at the Disneyland Resort.

The two-resort Premier Pass, which includes both WDW and Disneyland, now sells for $1,439, an increase from $1,099.

The changes in names, tiers, and benefits help obscure what is the largest percentage increase in annual pass prices in recent Disneyland history. If you discount the value of the Photopass downloads, the prices of a no-blockout Disneyland AP is rising from $779 to $1,049 — a 35%, $270 increase. And keep in mind that Disneyland will be reducing the number of attractions available to guests next year, with Fantasmic!, the Disneyland Railroad and all of the Rivers of America attractions closed for 2016.

The addition of the Signature and Gold passes at Disneyland and Walt Disney World, respectively, appear to be an attempt by Disney to entice annual passholders who do not want to pay a large price increase to accept new blockout dates during the parks' busiest period instead. The two weeks around Christmas and New Year's are the most crowded at both the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, with parks sometimes having to close their gates to new guests during that period.

Local residents will continue to be able to pay for their annual passes with monthly payments, instead of having to come up with all the money upfront, a payment scheme that has allowed Disneyland especially to increase substantially the number of annual passholders to its parks.

If you are wondering about day tickets to the parks, insiders report that the price of one- and multi-day tickets to the resorts are expected to increase in November.

There's also still that loophole to get an annual PREMIER passport :pimp:

Especially with that damn heat
The transformers and Simpsons ride is cool
The mummy ride is good but SUPER short

bro you're going to love disneyworld. it really is like the happiest place on earth. i love it even as an adult. From what I remember, the whole club 33 experience was dope. They really put a ton of thought into it. The way they greet you when you walk in to the lift ride to the dining area. It was an experience over being just fine dining. The toilets were weird as hell tho..They had like strange covers on the pot part. I wish I was older when I went, definitely could've enjoyed it more. It's for a mature crowd. But the service was some of the best I've ever hd, and trust me when I say, I've been to some of the most incredible, exquisite restaurants in the world, this was up there. You forget where you are after a while. This was before I was big into photography of other things and the majority of my shots consisted of pictures of me lol. and the only one taking pix of scenery was my mom, with pix that had to be developed. I'll ask her if she has any, she kept all the old pix...of everything lol.

Everyone knows u can buy a premier passport
The loophole I'm talking about
Is the one that u can actually if u live in California
Not have to worry about paying the whole 1439 in one payment
Which u actually have to do if u want a premier passport
There's a way to not have to
They don't allow people to make monthly payment on a premier passport like the other passes
But there's a way to still do it

What I hate is that I got the renewal notice at the end of September saying renew now. My pass is up in November, I always re-up when the time comes. Then outta nowhere, without warning, they hike the price. I was, and still am, infuriated because of that. I understand that prices will always go up. But to say that effective immediately the prices will change, to not give a warning of impending changes, is just sleazy.

For those with annual passes, how often do you guys go and do you guys go the entire day?

Back in HS when the annual passes were dirt cheap, we would just go in the evening for some clam chowdaaaa, funnel cake, hit up a few rides and then watch the fireworks. I haven't been in about 4-5 years, I can't imagine how crowded it is now at Disneyland.

At least a weekend a month
At least
And yeah the whole day
A park each day we try
But if we get bored at one we go to the other
We also chill in downtown Disney
And usually watch a movie cause of the discount

Hold up, they're getting rid of Fantasmic? So Tom Sawyer Island is gone? And Rivers of America???

Big Thunder Ranch officially closes January 10th. I'll be sad to see it go. Finally had the BBQ buffet a couple months ago. Slightly pricy but the food is better than just about everything they have at DL.

Yup :smh:
And that Aladdin show in California adventure
They replacing it with frozen :smh:
I'm getting tired of that frozen ****

leaving for disney world wed. I go pretty much every year. Always go around october for Food and Wine festival and the Universal Halloween Horror Nights. Staying in All star Movies. I never stay at those bottom hotels. But my daughter loves Toy Story so were staying there to stay in one of those rooms. Already have next year booked for Animal Kingdom Lodge.

To me Disney never gets old its the best place on earth. I've never been to DL and have no urge to go at all. I feel like the Aura of DW isn't there in DL.

Yeah I knew about the Aladdin show being replaced. I agree with getting tired of Frozen. I'm sick and tired of it. Honestly, the Aladdin show was pretty good, but Genie basically was the show  .

Am I the only one that thinks the Monte Cristo at Blue Bayou is overrated. I had it a couple months ago and I was let down. :smh:
