I was envious then I realized it's been hitting triple digit temps here and I get over it

blockout date clears at the end of August though

I think Disney should add this somewhere in DCA

Really love the classic Pirates too but man....

Did anyone go to the final day of Soarin Over California?

It wasn't my favorite ride, so I didn't really mind it leaving

What are they turning it into?

A few years ago, some kid thought it would be a good idea to bring a laser onto the ride and point it at the screen.

Ride was cut short because of it. When the attendants came out, a bunch of parents quickly pointed out the kid.

The Hollywood Tower of Terror is one of my favorite rides at DCA.

That Tron ride is too dope. Maybe they replace Space Mountain with it? I know its a classic but that is the only place I can think of fitting the ride.

Remove goddamn Autopia and put it there, no need to remove Space Mountain since it is one of those rides that can be altered to another theme, the projections are changed from Halloween to Star Wars.

Autopia is probably the worst ride ever, EVER!

They just need to redo all of Tomorrowland in a Tron theme.

Tron Legacy is my favorite movie of all time.

The autopia hate is real. With space mountain it would be easier to convert to a tron ride via projection lights and and changing to lightcycles.

As a kid I loved that ride. It was the closest thing to being able to drive a car. It helped mold my love for cars/driving or anything with a motor in it. I would definitely want my future seed to experience it.

Going to be in Anaheim July 4th for work but can't go to Disney because its blackout day. :x

Have you ridden Autopia lately? Oh man, I rode on it for the first time in maybe 15 years and I just wanted to hop off after 15 seconds.

It is in no way a representation of driving at all, thing is terrible. Driving mechanics simply sucks, it recently got a rehaul and all they did was repaint the place, cars are the same.

Thing is terrible, I despise it! Even worse than the Nemo sub ride. I hate it!

Only reason it's still operating is because it is sponsored by Honda and it is Honda that pays for some of the fireworks cost or something.

The thing with the Tron ride is that the light on the cycle can't be appreciated by other people if it is all indoors, the bystanders could appreciate the light cycles especially at night so it has to be a partly outdoor coaster, it's a great visual for the park.

Autopia is a classic and it isn't going anywhere. It's a good ride for kids. We as adults might not get the enjoyment out of it, but the kids love it.

It does need new electric cars though, this new refurbishment was phase 1 of bigger plans.

There is the big issue of the monorail. Last I read, it was really expensive to reroute the monorail which is why they have avoided any changes in that area.

Just use the monorail structure as part of the Tron coaster, where them Disney Imagineers at?

If they change the cars and allows you to go faster than 2 miles per hour, actually put gas and brake pedals instead of the dumb and stiff as f' single pedal and make the rails it's on smoother, then it might be more fun. Hell throw some new surroundings too and let people race then it's gon' be a decent attraction.

As it is now, looks like kids could get tetanus just from sitting on those old cars.

You cant just build a roller coaster on something that wasn't structurally engineered to handle a roller coaster, come on man.

post was in jest

I don't really hate Autopia that much either but it is my least favorite ride ever

I used to hate it too, I've learned to appreciate it though.

This isn't Disney World, it's THE Magic Kingdom, the original. Walt walked down that park every night. When it comes to DL, I don't want it to change much. Upgraded? Sure. But Walt's original vision must remain.

Disney Unveils Aerial Concept View of Star Wars Land

As construction continues on Star Wars Land at Walt Disney’s original theme park, today Disneyland unveiled a new look at the land.

Disneyland announced today that new Star Wars Land artwork will be appearing on a construction wall along Big Thunder Trail towards the back of Disneyland, where the new land is being built. The aerial view depicts the 14-acre project, which is expected to feature two major attractions, including one centered on piloting the Millennium Falcon.

The river that you see running along Star Wars Land is the updated version of the Rivers of America. The river is being cut short to make room for Star Wars Land. At the top of the river you can see the Disneyland Railroad’s train tracks — this is another classic attraction that is being modified (route wise) to make room for Star Wars Land. Both the railroad and the Rivers of America are closed right now as they get prepped for a galaxy far far away.

“Nestled between towering spires of rock, this thriving port contains a seemingly familiar architecture of markets, landing zones and buildings,” Disneyland writes on the Disney Parks Blog. “Look closely and you may find hints of some of the thrilling experiences that are coming – like the Millennium Falcon peeking out of one of the cargo bays, marking the location where guests will get the opportunity to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy.”

Star Wars Land’s opening date is expected to be sometime in 2018 or 2019. By the way, Disney is officially calling this the “Star Wars-Themed Land” at the moment. It remains to be seen if this will officially be called “Star Wars Land” or not.

Family is coming to visit so I'm gonna hit up Disneyland in a week or two. Any NTers still have the hook up on discounted tickets?

AP blackouts and surge pricing is working on crowds.

I went for 5 days and the lines were super short and the crowds were low.

Cast members on the forums have been saying it's been pretty slow this summer.

:smokin

I figured if Star Wars land opens 2019-20, my daughter will be around 3-4. Perfect lol

yah it is weird that summertime became the least busy also helps that most AP members are blacked out, that's pretty much what I am waiting for to end so I can go back

Just got back. Disney is :smokin

We did Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Magic Kingdom.

LOVE IT!!

Nice. One day I'll make it to Disney World. Always wanted to go as a kid, but pops wasn't gonna spend when Disneyland is so close.

They really getting rid of Twilight Zone for Guardians...And it will stick out like a pimple in the Hollywood/Sunset Strip Area...Ugh

Just tear down the Mater Ride and Bugs Life!

Tower of terror is wack AF anyways. If it was the disneyworld version I might have some beef but the DCA version was straight trash.

They're planning on building "marvel land" right behind where tower of terror currently is anyways, so why delay the inevitable?
