Do you still own cds?

I used to buy a lot more back when I had zero self control and would cop anything on impulse; now I just cop from my favorite artists.

I'd come home from Best Buy with like Blink 182's Greatest Hits and wonder where my life went wrong.

Still buy between 10-20 new CDs a year. I don't buy digital music or stream music. Then I'll randomly replace old scratched CDs that I'll come across on Amazon for cheap.

I haven't bought a cd In years. I download all my music on my ipod and phone. Not having to search for a cd anymore saves a lot of time. Having all my music in one place is great

All I use is CD's
Never downloaded anything in my life.
I don't have a phone or computer.
What is technology?

I buy CDs all the time. Im big on supporting the music I listen to; always have been. And I'll never like buying albums digitally, without the physical copy, it makes me feel like I didn't purchase anything. Plus that feeling of opening a new CD and opening the booklet never gets old. Funny thing is, after I buy them and burn them in my computer, for the most part, I never use it again lol.

Yep. Don't know how many exactly but I'd estimate well over 1000. Bulk of the collection was purchased from late '80s-early '00s of course... but I'll still occasionally buy second hand ones for like £1-2 and just upload them to the iTunes/hard-drive... only trouble is I'm running out of damn space to keep them lol.

I love cds.

I have literally hundreds and hundreds of mix cds i made and they are all unmarked smdh.

Its kinda cool tho poppin one in and being surprised or reminiscing about certain times in my life.....like photo albums.

I sill buy cd's and dvds almost every week.

I dont stream or hardly download anymore.

I must have over 2000 cd's of all different kinds of music And at least 1000 dvds

The problem i been reading for the last few years is 2015 could be the breaking point for physical compact discs and dvds.

I do the same. Import it and then put it away. Usually, ill edit the CD. Cut some songs short, delete skits, add bonus tracks and then burn it to a CD or add to a playlist.

Think I've bought around 6-7 new releases this year so far.

So those that have all of those cds, does the space it takes up bother you?

No ninjahood

I have CD's, but rarely listen to them anymore. I don't plan to get rid of the ones that don't end up damaged because the one thing I'm not good at is keeping all my mp3's and downloads on one drive, so if I break a phone or computer, the music is generally gone right along with it.

Someone feel free to put me on to a way to save my music one spot. I'm way behind the times with that one.

I love going into a store and buying CD's, opening up the package at home a reading through the booklet while it uploads on my computer. I have a CD case in my car and I like listening to full albums when I'm driving. I never buy digital albums unless that's the only way the album was distributed. If I'm paying for something I want everything that comes with the purchase, I feel like I'm being shorted with digital albums.

I understand. The sentimental value some physical objects used to bring us are being phased out. I feel the way with vhs.

CD cases are pretty small, they don't take up that much space. I'm a neat freak and my house is pretty empty because I don't hold on to ****. I love music and I've always enjoyed buying a CD and reading the booklet. I don't have an issue buying a CD for $10 if I like it. I illegally download everything first, if I like it I buy it. If I don't, I delete it. So I'll music as long as they make CDs. Once that stops, I'm done.

Doesn't bother me, but they do take up space that could instead be displaying some nice ornaments and ish

Once I get some new sideboard units for my crib, I'll be fine lol.

But like others have said, they're more of a back up than anything else... I'm not really emotionally attached to them, I just don't want to throw them out in case my digital copies get corrupted/stolen etc. and I have to import them again... it's only the music that I have emotional attachment to.

Just a small sample, I also have two Jordan CDP (outer) boxes filled to the brim at the back of my bedroom closet...

No Kanye albums though I'm afraid... "shrugs"

OneDrive x Google Play Music. CDs :x only CDs I still own are 12 Play, The Miseducation, and Purple Haze.

Might have Puffys No Way Out at the crib somewhere.

One more thing I would add is that if I'd known then what I know now, back in the late '80s I would have carried on buying vinyl... a vinyl collection is sooo much cooler than CDs... but hey, back then we were told that vinyl was pretty much gonna be obsolete unless you were a DJ ...CDs were the future and could never be bettered lol.

Last vinyl I ever bought was Prince's Batdance back in '89

Last tape I ever bought was Alkaholiks' Coast II Coast in mid '90s lol.
