2015-2016 San Antonio Spurs Thread: Tim Duncan Retires After 19 Seasons

Agreed on the Grizzlies and Blazers being potential threats to the Spurs in the playoffs. I'd love to see the Rockets in the 1st round though. I don't think they can win 4 games against us without home court advantage and with things getting chippy this game, it'd be nice to see this I-10 rivalry renewed.

Also, it's so great to see Duncan play at such a high level at this point in his career. I know we say it every season it seems like for the last 3-4 years, but damb, Duncan is still bringing it in year 18 :pimp:

I'm ready for the Playoffs now.

Warriors Mavs. Spurs should take them out in 6 games. I got my homer glasses still on after tonight's game.

Were you saying Warriors/Mavs as an answer to the question of who your biggest playoff threats are?

Nah, y'all face either of them in the playoffs, you're advancing.

To give the Spurs fits, a team needs to have grit, and bigs. Not just 'has been' Amare types, but current threats. The Mavs and Warriors have no one on their frontline that scares other teams.

And grit. A team needs grit, because the Spurs have a ton of it. Gotta match the Spurs energy and intensity and 50/50 balls.

I don't see the Mavs or Warriors doing that.

Warriors because of Talent Level and the Mavs because we they always play us well.

Cant it being Portland without Wes, too much pressure on Damian Lillard to do more especially wing defend which we know he cant.

I get what you're saying about the Bigs thing, you guys know I've been clamoring for the Spurs to get another big for years (thank you Aaron Baynes) but we have that covered also. The team with the best front line, The Grizzlies dont play us well ever.

I feel comfortable playing Portland, OKC or Clippers

Teams i'm shaky of are Grizzlies (which I think are the Spurs biggest threat) Dallas because they know how to play us, and Warriors because of so many weapons on that team) maybe the Rockets cause once Dwight gets going, pretty hard to stop him.

Anti cover most of what I was gonna post.

Warriors are talented and deep. Even tho I hate his arrogance, Curry is my MVP if i had a vote. Good coach. Playing @ Oracle Arena is gonna be tough too.

Mavs,,,,,Not as talented as the Warriors but Coach Carlisle is easily the 2nd best coach in the league. Texas rivalry.

I agree with you on the Spurs advancing vs both teams. For a team to give the Spurs fits to me would mean a team would have to take them the full 7 games. I would think these are the only 2 teams.

What are your guys' opinion of getting the 2 Seed do you want it or not? I've seen arguments for both sides. I personally want it. Play GSW as late as possible.

oh boy, that NBA thread sure is wild isn't it.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure the entire league is playing today.

Thoughts on the playoff race down the stretch?

OKC v Portland will be interesting

Memphis v GSW too

If the Spurs get the 2 seed that means the Mavs in the 1st round. They arent the same team last year but it will be a interesting series. Spurs in 5.

Kings have been out and are very close to being the 2nd worst franchise in the NBA. The worst franchise is the Lakers for obvious reasons.

I wish the Kings were the 2nd worst franchise in the standings..... if we lose the next two and Orlando wins their next 2 we would be tied for 5th

This is why they are the 2nd worst Franchise in the NBA. Don't know if they wanna win or lose, Firing a good head coach. mismanagement of DMC. Just awful.

the lakers are a head because no one expects the almighty lakers to fall off this hard. Takes a lot to bring a franchise that historic down.

Mavs are the one team I would not like to play in the first rd, much rather play Portland or the Clippers in my opinion
