New HBO series "Ballers" starring The Rock

Vernons acting is terrible . Dude doesnt even look believable as a top player in the NFL. Everything else so far has been good with me

i find it difficult to buy into ricky's character.

i dont think an alpha 8 figure athlete would be as sensitive and clownish as he is. since he looks like james harden i kinda expect him to act like him

word? KD, Lebron, Dwight Howard, T.O., Ocho Cinco, CP3, I can go on..

nah i definitely dont see it. these guys are arrogant and supremely confident

KD not sensitive? you srs? Lebron not sensitive? He didn't have a vid of him getting dunked on removed form the internets? Dwight Howard...nuff said.

oh you think a teammate of KD or Lebron would punk these guys?? throw their all their stuff in a tub of water...put their car on bricks??

well i guess......no point in discussing further.

nah not like that, of course not. there are other ways to be sensitive and clownish.

So Reggie is obviously an NTer. Too bad the WIO maneuver didn't work for him. Obviously the chick only rocks with players, not their hangers on. I want to know how she even ended up with them. I thought Spence was handling all that.

not bad.

nothing exciting really happened.

just set up for the future I guess.

Ricky wearing Yeezys.

Kind of surprised by the season finale. Usually most of these end with a cliffhanger or some kind of negative that needs to be addressed the next season. The way everything resolved in the end, you could just tell that they had zero confidence in a second season.

Can't say I'm looking forward to a second season, but I'll probably be tuning in.

Probably. But, remember how the first season of Entourage ended? Vince and E got in one of their little spats because E wanted to be his manager, then they kissed and made up and flew to film Queens Boulevard. They didn't introduce real conflict until the end of Season 2, when Ari got fired. Even then, Vince and E had another spat, but kissed and made up when Vince finally accepted doing Aquaman.

This season was basically the equivalent of Season 1 of Entourage. I was fine with it, and look forward to next season.

After reading this im not mad at this finale anymore.

Another vanilla episode.

This

they tied up the story lines so lazily

All This

Please don't compare this show to Entourage. With the exception of Dwayne Johnson, the supporting cast is subpar. Vernon needs some serious acting lessons and Ricky Jarrett is just an overall lame character. Matter of fact, all the athletes in this show are terrible at acting.

Very disappointing season finale. The writers REALLY need to step their game up with a plot in S2.

Charles' skinny Arms of Peace make his character unbelievable.
I can't believe Reggie slid right back like nothing.

Yeah, that Adrian Grenier (you know, the guy playing an actor) is a real thespian lol.

Anyway, I wasn't talking about the acting. I'm talking about the plot. They wrapped up season 1 in similar fashion. That's all I'm saying. I mean, were people mad back in 2004 when everyone miraculously became buddy-buddy again in Entourage? Nope. And they didn't the next season, or the season after. It's not lazy writing, it's how you write for a show when you don't know the future of it. They've set up a bunch of story lines for Season 2 anyway, when we'll know the outcome of Charles' comeback, Rickey's season with the Dolphins, and we get to see the misadventures of The Rock and Rob Corddry's new partnership.

So then you agree that the acting isn't all that great? I mean at least with Adrien Grenier he had a great supporting cast with Drama, Turtle, and especially Ari. Also, at the same time its comparing Apples to Oranges. I just feel like Entourage is better overall, this show just seems a little cheesy. I never really got that feeling with S1 of Entourage.

Even with all the story lines for next season, none of them seem to be strong. I was actually hoping the Rock and Rob were actually going to open up their own shop, that to me would seem like a solid ending.

But hey, I'm probably still going to tune in anyways so what does it matter. Just hope that they improve significantly next season.

I like the fact that They didn't open their own shop and stayed where they are. Much more comfortable that way.

Exactly. If Spencer said "yeah, man, let's DO THIS!" I would have checked out. It just wouldn't make sense. It was far more believable to have Spencer's influence bring his boy back. Spencer had zero track record at the company, and dude gave him a friggin' boat to entice him to stay because his face was worth that much. He'd bend over for him just to keep his name and face associated with the company. If Spencer had bailed on a sure thing, it would have been even more unbelievable.

Hell, that was the most believable story line of the last two episodes lol.
