That dude... Sonny Vaccaro.

"Meet John Paul Vaccaro, the pudgy native of Trafford, Pennsylvania, whose success at identifying and befriending top basketball players changed the game forever. His Dapper Dan Roundball Classic in Pittsburgh, one of the first national all-star games for high school players, not only became a fixture on the recruiting circuit for top college basketball programs, but also cemented Vaccaro’s relationships with high-profile coaches — who would then become Vaccaro’s business partners after he joined a young sneaker company called Nike. During the ’70s and early ’80s, Vaccaro signed such college coaches as Jim Boeheim of Syracuse, John Thompson of Georgetown, and Jerry Tarkanian of UNLV to “shoe deals” that turned the feet of the top players into billboards and launched Nike’s basketball business. -Grantland

30 for 30 was great.

at adidas for going cheap on LeBron. Could've forever changed the Nike/adidas rivalry...

Kobe is why I became an Adidas fan as a kid. I was huge fan of the KB8, KB8 and The Kobe. Then the T Mac 1 and 2 were fly to me too.

Adidas basketball has been making **** for over a decade now. Rose and Wall rocking shoes that are worse than Fubu and Spalding shoes.

The KB1 and TMac lines made Adidas a great competitor. RBK was early on the Answer years....glory days :smokin

This Lebron one gonna be good man..i remember this battle between nike/Adidas like it was yesterday. Everyone thought he was going with Addias

Reebok's Question is one of my all time favorites, along with The Kobe. Those early Iverson shoes were too damn nice. Question up until Answer 5. I wasn't crazy about the Answer 2.
