IMO ASUS makes the best Windows machines, HP is terrible, Dell is Terrible, Lenovo is legit also. IMO a New ASUS or a Refurb Mac is the way to go. Like I have continued to say, go cheap buy twice, and if you are going to penny pinch just cop an Off Lease Windows joint from Tiger Direct.

Actually I have a 2014 Retina MBP, sold my 2009 MBP for 600 and used it towards the Retina Joint. :smokin

Good stuff though. I played with the chrome... Real close to buyinh based off your reviews and others...


I still might cop though... Either that or a tablet.
 
I would love to know where the notion that Macs simply last longer/perform better then PC's came from. Is it something that people tell themselves to justify paying the price for a Mac? Is it actually backed by facts? In my experience using both, I have found that a PC and Mac of similar specifications and pricing last just as long as each other and perform tasks roughly at the same rate. For the output/price ratio, I think a lot of windows machines perform better then their Mac counterparts, at much lower price points

quite frankly if you know how to use a computer your joint will last forever minus any potential random hardware malfunctions. That being said Macs are more "fool proof", and I give them an edge over Windows PCs because they can run Windows which would cross out any con someone may have. I use both, and they all do the same thing, but I prefer Macs functionality over the new Windows thats out.

I sold it last september, someone in Canada copped on eBay. Mine was a 2009 15 in, and I had threw in 8gb of ram.

You do know buying ram yourself is cheaper than getting it preinstalled on a Windows or Apple machine right? That logic is like saying cop a phone case from the cell phone store over copping the same thing cheaper online on your own.

I posted a 150 dollar Windows Tablet that will do everything you need and then some.
