looking at a lab-top / techies, what y'all think?

I meant like i bought an np8690 for 2k in 09 and it had i7 820 quadcore with 4gb 1333 mhz ram and a 280gtx vid card. This was powerful back then and that was a time when macbook pros were getting hype, thing was pros didnt even have quad and a 256 bit vid card and apple charged about 2.1k with tax/shipping

In my experience any laptop less than 1k just dont hold up as much as more expensive laptops. Ive had a 700 dollar dell malfunction when i dropped it on the floor.

Well yea, that may do it lol

I'm in the market for a laptop as well and right now I've got my eyes set on the Asus N56JN. It's on Amazon for $1k. Anyone have any experience with that laptop wanna let me know what you think of it?

What's the benefit of having a SSD? I'm looking for a new laptop myself and don't see myself going MacBook again being that all I use my laptop for is niketalk and music

No moving parts. Faster (boot time, app launching, and just overall performance). Less chance of failing. Makes no noise, etc..

If you're just listening to music and browsing the internet an SSD is probably overkill.

Will never understand for the life of me people going cheap on PCs and having to drop 500 ever 2-3 yrs when they can drop 800-1k on a MBP that will last them 8-10yrs

toshiba??

damn the struggle is real

can we pool together some funds and get this brother a macbook?

we cant have him seen in public browsing niketalk on a toshiba brahs

Agreed. I have a 2009 MBP that's still going strong, but it's lagging a bit.

Not sure I can even re-sell it for much.

Will never understand why you think people are copping new computers every 2 to 3 years and spending $500 a pop...

And why you think everyone wants apple..

I had a dell studio copped in 09...

Still running smooth...

And if you lugging around 8 year old technology... Maybe YOU'RE the one that needs to reconsider...

nah dont eem bring that logic b,

a laptop is a tool and "cats witht he most paper" always look for the best tool to get their work done, and thats not a toshiba in most cases brah.

you can always upgrade your hard drive. SSD runs at 50 dollars for 120gb. Thing you should be worried about is if its a AMD laptop youre ******. Always go Intel on laptops.

^ People still buy dell? No offense, but they use their own made components and charge you the price of higher quality manufacturers.

Cats with the most paper look for efficiency...

You tell me... How is s macbook better than a windows PC when 90% of the time you're browsing the web and using Microsoft Office?

Also, working in android phones, half of the Dev kits and installers don't eem work with apple...

Sooooo... Why should I have gotten a macbook?

I just can't justify spending 1000 dollars on a computer when I do nothing complicated on it.

I also don't think that in 2015 the quality on non macs is so poor that they crap out in two to three years, no way.

my Sony laptop from 2010 still running strong but I might cop one since I got an extra movers coupon. Its not a bad deal.....

I Got a 2012 Macbook pro as a gift and #$%# been collecting dust. Only time its used is when someone comes over and uses it or if i'm on a long trip. other than that it stays in the box
