Exactly dudes buying these struggle computers, if you don't do anything "complex" then why even buy a PC? Just cop a Tablet and call it a day. Buy cheap you buy twice. I`m not even going to entertain the excuses dudes are posting either, because if you really just want a throw away computer to watch pron on and use MS office you will just go to Tiger Direct and buy the cheapest joint on there. IMO it is idiotic to warrant spending 500 on a "non essential" but call 800-1k too much. Its one thing if you are talking about a 199 Chrome Book to a 1500 MBP or ASUS, but if you are going to spend 500 why not just go all the way cheapo and cop a 199 Off Lease Refurb computer off of Tiger Direct/Ebay, since you "don't do much", hell you can cop a MS Surface for 200 bucks that runs MS Office, and will run pretty much everything you do on a windows PC. Once again "Mid range" PCs are trash and created so places like Best Buy can get you to tac on accessories and software and not feel bad when you walk out the door spending 800 but you got a "ton of extras". I sold computers and worked in PC repair most of College, and I can tell you this only PCs you see coming in for issues are them garbage 500 dollar Dells, HPs, etc.

You can download music on an Android tablet.

500gb external HDs can be had for less than 50 bucks now, so just find the cheapest laptop you can find and cop an external. Don't over think something if all you want to do is DL music and surf NT.

Well I don't really care about name brands, I searched "best laptops" and this one was #1 on almost every website so I did more research and copped it. Its a solid, fast and beautiful laptop. :smokin
 
Cop a macbook , run parallels and you can have two laptops in one and youll have the macbook for at least 5 yrs no problems

^^ I was selling it to an nter last year but he backed out last minute the day i was going to ship it to him :smh:. So i Decided not to sell anymore in case this Sony one dies. Its good to have an extra laptop laying around.

Cats with the most paper dont have time to carry around a charger and constantly plug in the pc. Macbook battery lasts between 8-10 hours

Plus have u used the trackpad on a new macbook? Joint is sofly it makes things 100 times easier and faster and allows u to do normal tasks faster, it has made the standard mouse obsolete

Buying a macbook is not about flossingg on ur peers anymore its about having the best product that has the most utility value, and thats why "rich cats" buy them instead of a normal pc from bestbuy

To be honest i want all my niketalk brothers to use their money wisely and purchase the best product availabel and in my opinion a pc laptop is a subpar product that continues to sell because cats are used to the windows platform which is outdated

If that's really all you do, look at a chromebook. seriously. Just upload your music to Google Music and you'll have access to it anywhere you have an internet connection. And all for only about $2-300 WITH an SSD.

Cats will blow money on food, alcohol, weed, sneakers, and clothes but want to be cheap on aomething like a PC,lol amazing. Three things you dont go cheap on is a computer, phone, and appliances, when you go cheap you at least gotta accept everything thag comes with it when it comes to issues.

I have before, even used one for a bit. I found myself at times wanting to do things that I couldnt do because of Chrome OS. Maybe 15% of the time I hit a usage wall, but it was very nice for the price.
Does this seem like a good buy to anybody since we're on the Mac superiority conversation?

I've used macbooks in the pass... they were cool, nothing i was too enamoured with.

And you still have yet to tell me what i'm supposed to do when it comes to my android phone... Again, a TON of programs designed for the customization of your phone are rooted in Windows based platforms...

I would be missing out on A LOT...

I tried out my coworkers macboook that had excel on it (i had asked about it in another thread)

**** was straight bunz, bro... none of the shortcuts worked the same, button displacement... I was lost trying to work my way through Excel and Word...


again, some people are fine w/ macbooks... but dont crap on folks that choose not to use it because there ARE some drawbacks and things not favorable to tthem that would favor a $390 laptop...
 
I'm holding off getting a new laptop until next year, hopefully this struggle Asus I'm messing with makes it. Stata and SAS being making it freeze up :smh:

C'mon Dell, gimmie dat remodeled XPS 15 with a 1080p touchscreen, and custom options.

Agreed. You're a finance guy right, Fontaine? I can understand how annoying it is using Office on a Mac.

I use my MBP as a back-up to my Lenovo. No complaints.

Asus will do you right. Try the Q501LA model and throw an SSD in there, shouldn't be too expensive

ill never go back to a pc (except for maybe buying a cheap one just for traveling purposes which is doubtful). apple's os is just so much better. more fluid, better experience. i can answer phone calls and iMessages from my computer. it runs so smoothly. love my macbook.
