Am I the only person that think the fear of illegal imigration is absurd?

I live in Texas and there are a ton of illegal immigrants around here.

Pretty much any labor intensive job is performed by migrant workers from the South.

One of the biggest reasons homes are so cheap here is the endless supply of cheap labor from South of the border.

Food costs are also cheap nationwide because of this.

I read articles about the cost that tax payers pay because of this here in Texas but I'm willing to bet good money that its they the benefits outweigh the negatives.

How can you complain of paying an average of $1127 extra in taxes per household here Texas while you have a lower cost of living that is directly impacted by the abundance of cheap migrant labor?

Use to pick up Juan and Jose back in my concrete finishing days. Cool and hard working peeps. this whole scare tactic regarding south of the border is ******ed
 
It all stems from racism and xenophobia. A massive segment of the population has a fundamental hatred towards the "others." Republican Party encourages and feeds off that kind of hatred.

I live 1.5 hrs from the border and white people here are terrified of illegal immigrants. I understand it to a degree but they exaggerate the **** out of the situation
 
When i moved to Houston from Alabama i noticed mad Hispanics posted up on the back up homes depot parking lot. Took me a sec to put two and two together but them boys just trying to eat.
 
I'm a cook so you know I don't give af. Kick it with plenty and a cook is always a call away. They could show some lazy *** Americans a thing or two.
 
One of those things that I don't really have the evidence for but I believe- some(majority) conservative-type white people honestly think minorities are going to team up and overthrow or enslave them.

Alot of them really think they are being victimized or aren't being protected when they get called out for the nonsense they try to pull

Mexico is a damn war zone... You hear about mass murders every day.. These folks tryna get away from that bull..

And instead of helping, we (America) build fences and put armed guards on the border..

Nah, they all don't just wanna work... You'll have your bad apples like anything else... But from my experiences they're hard working honest people that take pride in their work no matter what it is... People clown then for accepting menial jobs but they always got cash.. Always hustling.. Always tryna move forward.

I just hate how they get treated man.. And I know its only worse in the southwest..

LOL, I've thought of this theory before. It reminds me of Chris Rocks stand up "Bigger and Blacker" it can happen but what's the point in the end.

Been thinking this lately as well. Especially with the climate the media has been attempting to build for awhile.
 
It's just an irrational fear of brown people by the white majority. I rarely see other minorities complaining about illegal immigrants around here.

Also, let's just be honest, white people have a deeply embedded fear that stems from and is driven by the guilt of how they've treated and continue to treat minorities.

I may be wrong, but the issue is because they're illegal. They most likely pay no taxes, but they benefit from the things we pay taxes for. Another reason is because they're taking jobs that could possibly better the economy(those who do pay taxes, would help out the economy). It messes the whole system up because they begin to start other things of their own with tax free money, and it just creates more problems and grey areas for the economy as a whole. It boils down to fairness IMO. Another thing is that they take the lower wage jobs that are meant for "lower income" folks. When they don't have a job we have to dish out more for welfare and the expenses that they cause upon the economy. Not to mention a rise in crime and other social issues due to illegals being here and nothing being done. It's the way this country works They can easily deport illegals even if their kid is born here(right or wrong), IE the Sudanese in Israel(?). They just choose not to because it helps out businesses when it comes to taxes. It's interesting to me because in the early 1900's or something around that, this country totally freaked out when the Chinese began coming over here and taking the jobs for an extreeeemly low wage and sending money back to their fam. The PEOPLE literally rallied them up and tried to deport them themselves. Some even got killed before the government had to get involved to keep it civilized. I think they even banned them from coming over for a min. Since then the gov't has apologized and I believe they even gave the Chinese some form of reparations......while blacks still wait for something from slavery(I had to...)

It's a double edged sword in a sense. With the good comes the bad but some of these dudes are down right ruthless. They're not all just tryna "eat".
