Let's just all brace for Kevin Love.

And get it over with.

Also for people who think Middleton or Tobias will come cheap.

Khris Middleton will be one of the NBA's most highly coveted restricted free agent.

Middleton put up a great season and is well-liked by advanced analytics.

One executive predicts Middleton to receive an offer of $15 million per season.

“That’s what Chandler Parsons got, but this guy plays much better defense,” the executive said.

Middleton is a good perimeter shooter and he can defend multiple positions at a high level.

Leonard, Butler, Knight, Middleton, Harris are all getting near the max if not outright max. Every single one of them.

Also the latest Chad Ford mock draft has Jahlil to the Lakers at # 4

Middleton is restricted. E you might as well let that dream go. Bucks won't let him go and Mitch doesn't waste too much time on players that are restricted so you might as well let that ship sail.

But Love may be a real possibility smh :smh:

In other good news, Messina's contract for the Spurs is up in 2 years. Says he may wait until his contract is up to go for a head coaching position. May be perfect timing for us. In 2 years we should have a better roster ready to make our push for deep playoff/championship runs. Get rid of Byron for his last year and bring in Messina ....that's my dream.

Mitch will "waste" time on a restricted free agent that is worth the money and effort.

He decided there weren't any in the one summer he's had money to spend.

On Gasol.
i remember peeps said it was 10 days into the season and told us to wait. look at him now. lol.

not really gonna guess or play fantasy GM. just gonna set back and see who comes back.

He has his limitations, but I would contemplate giving Danny Green a Parsons-like contract. Especially if the Lakers landed Towns or Okafor.

There's a ton of value in an in-his-prime deadeye shooter that can play tough defense.

There's no way in hell I'm giving him a 15 mil dollar deal. He's not that valuable, especially outside of Pop's system.

I get it. I would say if Russell is the guy then a versatile defender is even more important.

Just think that's way too much for Green.

How do u feel about Aminu? 3pt shooting has improved.

Aminu can be really useful if he can continue to develop a three point shot, but he's a power forward.

That is the value in their game tho. JJ, Green, Wes, guys that can shoot from anywhere, play defense (less the case in JJ) and not need the ball other than just spot up shots.

Get a creator, that can shoot.
A shooter/defender (3D)
Kevin Durant
Power Forward that can step inside or out side the paint, and rebound
Rim protector/Finisher around the rim, also rebound and play help defense

Clarkson
Green
Durant
Randle
Towns

What an insult lol. I think Aminu is a much better defender and rebounder.

Unless he's surrounded with shooters like he was in Dallas, he and his team are best suited he play power forward.

Eh I don't see it. Green has develoce but 1 I don't think that he's an elite defender, he's good yes but Kawhi takes on the task of the best perimeter player plus dude gets so many wide open looks in SA. There's nobody on the team that would command that attention nor is Byron creative enough offensively to create that type of ball movement schematically. He was also bricking a ton of those open 3s this season.

There's far better uses for $15 mil than Danny Green.

That's Boogie, Russ, Lopez type money right now.

Durant/Clarkson/Randle/Towns wouldn't create looks? :nerd:

Who said anything about Byron being here?

Point blank, if you are intent on building towards what Byron wants, then it's pointless for us to even have this thread, we'll never be good, ever. Byron is garbage. We have to build with the hope/belief that he will be gone soon. We have to pray someone in the FO already knows that, and will pull the trigger when necessary.

That's a whole lotta ifs, and to give Green that coin with no indication that KD is coming is silly.

We haven't seen Randle nor the draft pick even play at this level.

The way I look at it, if you're a 6'6 to 6'8 wing:

You can get $3-5M per year being decent on both sides of the court (Barnes, Dunleavy, Pondexter, Carroll who's getting a raise this summer).

You can get $6-7M per year being really good on one side of the court and salvageable on the other side (Redick, Korver, Meeks, Tucker, Allen).

You can get $8-12M per year being solid-good on both sides of the court (Ariza, Deng, Iguodala, Parsons would have been here, but the Mavs made him a max player to force the Rockets' hand).

You can get the max or close to it if you can play both sides of the court really well (George, Hayward, Thompson, Butler, Leonard).

Green probably belongs in the $8-12M category, but to get a good player from a championship contending team you're going to have to overpay in this market.

If the Spurs are giving Kawhi 5/118 they're not going to have any money left for Green anyway so why overpay?

It's what nick young is for
