Yea he was but it wasn't the Princeton.
All I'm saying is if the Lakers was gonna make the "New School" player you can't keep the "Old School" coach. It's just conflicting. Especially with that slow and methodical Princeton.
Things need to be sped up with quick hitting options in the shot clock. By the time the Lakers get their first look at the basket 10 seconds are already off the **** clock.
And this is what I viewed all last year. Struggling to get to 95 points

Pick and Roll teams don't fair too well (Clippers) especially in the playoffs (Suns). To think Byron Scott is saying "Yea we gonna walk the ball up and make 10 passes before we shoot" is foolish.

The team you watched last year isn't even as talented as the SL team this year

For a fairer comparison, rematch the third qtr of this game. It was the princeton offense, but more so of Clarkson controlling and running it. He attacked the defense, got guys open looks, pushed in transition, and when he had spacing on the floor he called a screen and created off of that. All things I'm sure DLo will become more comfortable doing as the season progresses. I think putting DLo in system where he just pick n rolls all game hurts his growth more in the long run. The Princeton like any other motion offense is based on reading defenses rather than getting in a set and running plays off of that. It'll come with time. I don't see anybody complaining about the Spurs offense after they got al their pieces. People use to say they was boring and this and that but now everyone loves that style of play

I haven't seen any flashes from Dlo he shouldn't have been in the top 10 picks

i just don't see why the lakers drafted him instead of jah .....really don't see anything special in him and like I said I hope I'm wrong

It's 2 summer league games. Relax.

He looks really good in person and has an awesome feel for the game. He plays calm and doesn't get out of control. He needs to work on his speed and strength but he's 19 and its gonna be a process. Kobe wasn't KOBE until like year 3-4. Same with Durant, curry, Davis. You'll see flashes of it but give him till years 3-4 before you're ***** on the pick

Rome wasn't built in a day, enjoy the rebuild and hope to god the Lakers work on there FA pitch.
With the 2nd pick I would assume you go for the player that's ready to contribute right away not 3 years down the line

Then you're not very realistic

Look at:
Westbrook
Durant
Davis
Dwight Howard
Aldridge
Curry

All these guys took a few years to develop. This wasn't the 2003 draft class, no one is coming in dominating day 1.

Patience is key, but you probably wanna trade these guys for Boogie right? :smh:

KD came into the league avg 20. So he was ready day 1. But the others did take at least a full season to 2 years to get going.

The constant comparisons to Jah will be they're from the masses though, especially if he beasts and D'Lo struggles.

The teams were trash. They won 20 games

Sure he looked good but players take time to get used to NBA speed, it'll come.

Patience is the key. D'Lo looks good for only his 2nd summer league game. You can tell by his body language that he wants to flourish and improve in every aspect. He's a stud but all he needs is some experience and he WILL adapt. He has such great ability at reading the floor.

Yup.

Eh all those guys are MVP level players, I see him more on the Conley/Lillard All star tier PGs given his makeup right now.

Who's not very realistic then? Na but I really hope he is

I mean you said he shouldn't be top 10 pick after 2 SL games

Hell be good, he's a good kid and works hard, just needs to adjust to NBA speed and the 24 sec shot clock.

Sigh.... Dude compared him to Dame and Mike like they bust or something :smh:

Then other dudes comparing him to Steph and Russ already :smh:

I'll be back on Monday.... These cats is tripping

I'm not even a fan of him, but realistically, yes his ceiling is that Conley/Lillard level.

I also said months ago he'd struggle initially. Give him time to develop.

Actually he should be watching a lot of Conley and try to model his development. D'Lo is already a more gifted passer.

Who said Dame and Conley were busts? They just haven't proven to be franchise players which is what you're hoping for when picking that high. If that ends up being D'Lo's ceiling then that's cool we got an all star player, just need Randle to come along and JC to show out as well and we're good.

I'm just worried Jah is going to end up being Boogie Cousins without the headcase problems, which is a franchise guy.

He can shoot and has excellent court vision.

Two things to take away.

Problem is he has no legs underneath him. He's gassed from the doom practices that Byron runs. There is a lot of running. A LOT.

When he can keep pace and keep from getting tired so quickly he'll make a complete 180.

Not to mention if we ran a coherent offense. That would make it easier as well.

After only 1 year in college and 2 summer league games.

You fools already are able to look into the crystal ball and predict he's only going to be at that level  :rolleyes

Flashback time to the 1996 summer league @ the Long Beach pyramid:

Some NT'ers were in diapers, elementary school, junior high, high school, or college during this time

DarthSka... welp I think we know he was finishing up grad school at the time

Okafor will put up good stats his rookie year because he will be on a crappy Siixers team that's going to be lucky to crack 20 wins this season.

I don't see how projecting Russell to be on the same tier as All Stars is an insult. He has his limitations that may or may not keep him from being a superstar (not an explosive athlete, needs to get better finishing in traffic, questionable defender). But there's nothing wrong with being on the same tier as Conley and Dame. Those are two very good players.
