Well John Ireland is at it again lol now he said lakers should either trade the pick for cousins or trade down to get more picks

Dear Ireland:

"DeMarcus is untradeable & a guy who we want to build around" Divac on DeMarcus Cousins

Just talked to Vlade Divac on @SiriusXMNBA He said George Karl "might have overstepped his bounds" saying no player is untradeable #Kings

Not a single team in the Top 10 has another 1st..

God damn it Ireland is a tool.

It'd be one thing to say trade the 2nd for the 6th & 15th. That would be fine. But trading the 2nd pick for anybody in the Top 10 would be pointless.

if it was the 2nd and filler for D.Cousins straight up i'm taking that 100/100 times.. Cousins reallyhas no weakness in his game and is only 24. No big not named KAT has the potentail to be what Boogie is now (and he's not done growing as a player)

If Jah can expand his gamejust a little bit out to the free throw line/midrange area, he can absolutely be what Boogie is now. He's only 19 right now. He's already more skilled than Boogie was on the block coming in I think. And him/Towns are here at a fraction of the cost, I don't do the trade now.

Okafor doesn't have an ounce of the passing ability Boogie has, the shooting touch, the ball handling skills or the Athleticism that allowed a pedestrian defender to turn into a very good one.

Over the next few years we are trying to Lure KD/Russ/ whatever other Superstar comes along who may want out... Those guys are going to a place that gives them the best chance to Win immediately, Boogie> Okafor now, 3 years from now, 10 years from now.

For the millionth time, this isn't even a discussion worth having.

All the pluses about Boogie might be valid, but there's no reason to think he's going anywhere at the moment.

Lakers' draft lottery luck will help in free agency, agents say

Though they didn’t quite win the lottery on Tuesday, the Lakers were the big victor once the ping-pong balls were processed. Not only did the Lakers avoid the disaster that would have followed if they’d fallen to No. 6, but by landing at No. 2, Los Angeles also is that much more attractive as a potential free-agent destination this summer.

That’s according to player representatives who will have major free agents on the market this summer.

“I think it is something that helps out their sales pitch in a big, big way,” one agent told Sporting News. “The past couple of years, their pitch has sort of been, ‘Come play for us because we’re the Lakers and the weather is nice.’ That’s not enough. You’ve seen that. They have not had a direction, and that’s why players don’t want to go there.”

Now the Lakers, at least, have the makings of a team with a direction. They will have forward Julius Randle coming back from injury, and will add a major piece on draft night—perhaps one of two big men, Jahlil Okafor or Karl-Anthony Towns. The Lakers could also explore a trade for No. 2, though they’re expected to keep the pick, barring a knockout offer.

That helps a team that has, in the eyes of players around the league, been too centered around the health and volume shooting of Kobe Bryant.

“A lot of players around the league have not wanted to go to L.A. because they felt like they’d be going to watch Kobe shoot 50 times,” another agent said. “I think that is still the case. But maybe now they have some post-Kobe plans. I’d wait to see what they do, but they’re in a better position than they were last year, obviously.”

Bryant will turn 37 in August, and averaged 20.4 field-goal attempts in 35 games last year. He has one more year on his contract, and will make $25 million next season.

The Lakers attempted to sign Carmelo Anthony last summer but finished out of the running, as Anthony pretty much narrowed his choices to Chicago or New York. The Lakers also pursued guard Kyle Lowry last summer, but Lowry decided to go back to Toronto. And they made their pitch to Dwight Howard in the summer of 2013, but Howard took less money to go to Houston.

This summer, the Lakers are expected to be among the most active teams on the free-agent market. They are likely to address their point-guard hole through the market, possibly with Rajon Rondo or Goran Dragic.

They will remain open to signing a top-level big man, like Marc Gasol, Kevin Love or LaMarcus Aldridge, though those options are longshots. More likely, they will pursue a second-tier perimeter player, like Khris Middleton, DeMarre Carroll or Luol Deng.

The Lakers also bring back forward Julius Randle, the No. 7 pick in last year's draft who broke his leg in the first game of the season. Second-round 2014 draft pick Jordan Clarkson made the All-Rookie first team last season, emerging in the second half as a viable piece for the future.

The addition of the No. 2 draft pick, of course, is not going to vault the Lakers back into the postseason picture. But it does put them in position to move forward with a defined direction — and that will make them a lot more attractive to free agents around the league this summer.

I mean, whoever's next, if 'all' we get out of them is the same 2 chips we got with Bynum, then Bynum 2.0 is fiiiiiine by me.

Sure, I'd like Next to be a cornerstone, but if 'all' he does is contribute to 2 rings, I'll take it. Gladly. :smokin

I'm for Okafor. Towns and Okafor are both really really raw big men type players. Towns reminds me of a Bynum, Pre-Hype Javalle McGee. But I'm leaning on Okafor because he seems more agile. He seems decent, a hard worker, although he comes of as a bit too soft in my POV. Not sure about attitude, but Towns seems to give off that Bynum attitude. Must be a St. Joseph thing. LOL

It would surprise me if Minnesota picked Towns. That would be a terrible mistake as the Lakers will be forced to take Towns.

Why does bynum still look exactly the same. Imagine if kat goes under kareem's wing and learns the skyhook...cap said bynum had it down but just never used it in games. Kareem working with towns, worthy has shown randle some moves and then there's jordan and nash. Oh mama

If minny get towns take okafor

And make them pay by signing wiggins when hes a free agent [emoji]128548[/emoji]
