People said I was foolish when I was hyping clarkson in february and what happened? 1st team all rookie. So yea I'll be a fool under those conditions. If you're really gonna take joe johnson, avery bradley, danny green, terrence ross, demar derozan over clarkson....well maybe it's understandable why you don't want to try and backup those claims

And E you're just naming names. Demar Derozan? Terrence Ross? Those dudes are TRASH and there's no way you'd take them over clarkson. Korver is a one trick pony who can't dribble. You wouldn't have listed him before this past year. same with gordon although I'll give him a slight edge as he did have a solid season. Joe johnson and avery bradley, for real? Green has become overrated because of the finals where he shot lights out before going ghost, he's a lesser korver. And yes I factored out OGs like wade and kobe. Someone like wes matthews is solid but clarkson has more skills and a higher ceiling and will eventually surpass him. Middleton is the kinda guy that could give clarkson fits if they matched up but overall clarkson will be better (think Kobe/Tayshaun...and no I'm not comparing him to Kobe).

Korver is a legendary shooter, and solid defender.... Go look at the NBA Re-Draft thread from last summer.. I took him 60th. Explained why in detail.
DeMar DeRozan... Better scorer, as good rebounder, more athletic. Put up Clarkson numbers with far more mouths to feed on offense, and wasn't even a primary ball handler. Both piss poor shooters.. But if you ask me to take one to take a crucial shot, it wouldn't be Clarkson.
Terrence Ross better shooter. Better defender. Gets buried in Toronto.
Joe Johnson is only looked at negatively because of his contract.... Better shooter, scorer, better rebounder. And still puts up solid assists numbers for the guy you think he is.
Avery Bradley... Better shooter. Light years ahead defensively
Danny Green... Great shooter.. Great Defender.
Wes Matthews far more complete player... And saying Clarkson will eventually pass him, means he's not ahead of him.
Khris Middleton just shot 47 / 41 / 85. He's only 9 months older than Clarkson. And he's a defensive swiss army knife. Can guard 2s & 3s and even go all the way up to the 4.
As for your Robert Upshaw comment. It's not hyping him up. It's just stating what it is. He was a projected lottery pick. Was a doofus. Has a medical condition that he was cleared of, and went undrafted... Therefore, he could be a steal.

Really excited to see how good Randle will be next year. I know it was preseason, but he was hooping last year. Even gave Draymond a bunch of buckets lol.

THAT IS NOT HOW YOU RANK PLAYERS.
You can't say oh he's a Top 8 SG because of what he COULD BE.. When you rank players, it's what they are.
And what Jordan Clarkson is.... Is not even a Top 20 SG.. Could he be a Top 10 SG at some point? Yeah sure.
But right now? He's not.

I would say to be very careful not to overrate Clarkson's rookie season.
He had two things going for him; He had the ball in his hands with no real consequence past February and he had the size advantage more times than not. These two things will likely not be in his favor this upcoming season.

I did say it was MY top 8 tho. I wouldn't take guys like bradley and green over him today, right now. to say there are 20 other sgs you would take over him heading into next season....that's just crazy to me.
I'm aware of this and I paid close attention when he ran the off guard next to Lin. He played very well in that lineup, he's just a basketball player and knows what he's doing. He's not a tweener stuck between posiitions, he has all encompassing guard skills. Also he never has the size advantage in the paint and still finished around 60% at the rim. He just has a lot of game. Funny because he shoots well from the right side and Dlo shoots well from the left side so it will be great to see them play off each other and hopefully take advantage of that

Don't fall into the trap of numbers. Wiggins was locking down Harden and giving him buckets on the other side. Wiggins will be a top 10 perimeter defender for the rest of his career.
You can look at Clarkson's numbers and be impressed. I was too. Doesn't mean I think he's now or ever will be a top 8 shooting gaurd.
He'll never ever be better than
Wiggins/Harden
Thompson/Beal/Butler
Middleton/Wes
And those are just the relatively young players.
You see a top 8 player, I see George Hill.

I'm not saying he'll be better than wiggins who is listed as a forward everywhere you look (including all rookie team) and will be playing next to rubio and lavine for the forseeable future. They put up similar numbers, that's all. Jordan's defense certainly needs some work. Other than that you listed 6 guards. I'm still waiting for your explanation on why bradley beal is that much better than him. You make it sound like they don't even belong in the same gym

Beal and Clarkson isn't a discussion worth having . And how is Jimmy Butler a 2 but Wiggins isnt? Wiggins player more 2 than Clarkson did last year.
But if you want to play that game, I'd take LaVine over Clarkson too.
Don't forget that Clarkson went to college for 4 years. The rest of these guys are 1 and dones and 3 years younger than Clarkson.
