Would have loved Tyson and I'm sure he would have enjoyed wearing the purple and gold as he is an LA kid, but damn I don't blame him one bit for taking ALLLL of that money

I hear the Suns brought Chandler in to try and help recruit Aldridge, but do they even have any cap space left

minus whale get boss back on the squad.

that tyson contract :x

if this is what free agency looks like, i cant imagine what it will be like next season when the tv money kicks in :x :x

How long are you two going to keep this act up?

As one source sagely explains: Suns certainly have player to appeal to PORT in sign-and-trade if LaMarcus Aldridge chooses PHX: Eric Bledsoe

Byron says he's starting and the lakers have been linked to everyone but tobias. I'm just connecting the dots, 1+1=2 and all that. Could be wrong of course

He's starting now because he's the only option really. If they bring in Harris, Kobe slides back to his 2 and Clarkson spells Russ and Bean.

They say he's starting and then they follow it up by not pursuing a guy who would take his minutes. I look at that as some sort of sign

A person in the room described it as a good exchange of ideas, but there was not a max contract offer. Monroe is also fielding visits from other teams, including presumed front-runner New York.

Monroe, 25, is a little undersized to be a full-time center and is not a shot-blocker, averaging 0.5 a game last season, though he is a reliable scorer and solid rebounder.

No, not really. First of all the starting line up is not set in stone. Secondly, you don't avoid certain positions because of Jordan Clarkson. Mitch has constantly said temper expectations. He put up stats on a bad team. He did do it efficiently though.

I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being a sixth man type player for the Lakers in the future.

I still don't want Tobias, but wouldn't be mad if we got him. You can use the argument he put up meaningless stats on a bad team as well. Anyway there's just something about him I don't trust. A very poor mans Melo. There's a reason the Magic won't match a max on him. While other teams are easily giving their guys huge contracts that they deserve (I.e Middleton).

Monroe is definitely a big no for me though.

No he wouldn't take his minutes. He's a 3. A 4 in a small lineup.

Russell / Clarkson (24 minutes each at PG)
Kobe (20 minutes) / Nick Young (20 minutes) / Russell & Clarkson (4 mins each)
Tobias (32 minutes) / Kobe (8 minutes) / Nick Young (8 minutes)

etc.

He wouldn't take anybody's minutes.

No Monroe max
No Lin

Now if we actually do something proactive maybe I'll feel better.

What you guys are saying would make perfect sense if there was some type of meeting scheduled or talks of mutual interest between the lakers and harris. Since there isn't, it doesn't make sense and I have to suppose the lakers are committed to clarkson

Have the Lakers said they have no interest in Tobias Harris?

They still have several days to contact him, if they haven't already. I haven't seen any reports specifying what teams have actually contacted him, anyway.

I'd say he's on the second tier for most teams based on the way things are going.

He's been linked to boston and detroit. If they were that interested I think we would know by now. At this point it would be a case where nobody wants him and nobody wants us so we end up in bed together

The Lakers are probably focused on LaMarcus and Deandre off the bat, but they'll move onto other targets once the dust settles.

Tobias may or may not be one of them. But it's too early to say they're plain not interested, especially when nobody else seems to be jumping on him either. I'm sure the market will ramp up on him once the bigger names sign and there will be way more than two teams.

It's less than 24 hours into free agency. Just because Chris Broussard hasn't dropped a "Tobias Lakers" tweet yet doesn't mean they'll be forcing themselves into signing him.

Steve Kyler – Verified account ‏@stevekylerNBA

Tobias Harris received a number of calls/offers in the last 24 hours, his camp feel confident he'll have several offer sheets to choose from
10:53 AM - 1 Jul 2015

If he's there at closing time after last call I guess. Doesn't seem to be any real interest from the lakers

Nobody's reported which teams contacted him though

Hopefully, the Lakers placed some kind of call. It might not show as much interest as what they're doing for LMA/Monroe/Deandre at the moment, but that's understandable.
