Get that pick

It will be a #27 or later pick.. It is not worth it.

Even a worse idea than Lin. By 100 times.

At least with Lin, you had a guy in his mid-20s to see what he has.
He was an all-star 2 years ago before he got hurt and the Warriors found that Draymond fit their system better.  An all-star + 1st round pick for nothing is still better than doing nothing at all on the offseason.

No it's not. And David Lee is 32 years old.

So you would rather just pay that 15M to the other scrubs we would have on our team if we don't sign anyone?

He has 1 year left on his contract.  If we don't get anyone else I'd rather get a first round and a guy who can contribute solid minutes since were not getting out pick next year.

I don't think LMA is coming either way. He wants to be a 4 not a 5.

I'm fine if we get folks or not. Give the rookies time to develop, keep improving then have a TON of cap space to sign two max players....

Now if we strike out next year...then

Don't understand why LA wants a second meeting...wouldn't he just say no like how he did to the Knicks?

...maybe there's hope.

Also reports tonight will say: "meeting went great, Lamarcus truly pondering LA" then he'll sign with the Spurs. All media spinning.
Can't burn bridges

You guys do realize this meeting isn't to re-pitch LMA. This is moreso the agents in the room trying to save face for the Lakers. Don't wanna burn the bridge in future.

Don't get your hopes up guys. This meeting isn't for LMA to sign. It's for the Lakers and his agent to change the narrative to what happened yesterday.

It's about if he wasn't gonna sign with us why leak out the info about our meeting being poor to embarrass us. That's what this meeting is about. It's for publi perception.

Yup pretty much.

Woj says second meeting is charitable.

Damage control like I thought.

Doesn't make sense. Damage control for what, for them to try and trade for him in later years? It doesn't benefit LMA

Wasserman agency has a lot of agents that work with the lakers, gotta change the media narrative.

That's all it is.

And we continue to look like ******* morons

wouldn't it make the Lakers look worse to decline them after 2 meetings? No matter what. ESPN is non-stop Laker-bashing from yesterday on.
It won't help.

I don't see how this is spin control.

It doesn't benefit anyone except for the fact that he wants to be here and they aren't making him a strong enough pitch.
