The washed players are ring chasing on non garbage teams

Stop relying on the city or the history or kobe to attract free agents. Build a half decent team and people will start signing with us.
Again my man, and no disrespect, they had a half decent team, and they screwed it up by too much talking to the media.

It's not the money it's the fact that he is still there period Kobe getting paid 5M or 25M doesn't change the fact that he is still Kobe the ahole

Sure he's an asteriked, but that didn't stop Ron from coming cause he could still play. The fact that he's washed now is more of the reason. We've been a tax team with no significant space to sign anyone major since Shaq, now we've had it for two summers straight and they have no idea how to sell the Lakers. That's not on Bean.

They weren't in there primes and Kobe and shaq were. We had Phil then, now we have Byron.
People weren't signing before Byron got there.

It's a shame, because they had more talent there when Mike Brown was coaching, AND they played defense.
You're kidding right?

They only played defense under Brown during the lockout pre-Sessions trade. Went to **** when he arrived and the start of the following season. Not that it was all Brown's fault, because the roster was flawed.

Ron is a lunatic u cant include him and matter fact they  goofed on that too, Ariza was the player to sign not him

I think that you would agree that a team is never settled early on in the season, and the team must go through some ups and downs before it could solidify as a unit, being tight, together, right?

That team was never given a chance to gel.

It's okay though, the franchise is suffering now due to that impatience.

Ariza went for a payday elsewhere abs ended up getting the same deal the Lakers offered Ron. You can pick and choose what you want. Fact is they've not had more than the MLE to work with for a significant time and have no idea what to do or how this FA thing works.

Kobe's deal IS on the FO. Mitch, Jim, Jeanie. All of them.

They arrogantly thought it wouldn't hurt them. Healthy Kobe? Sure, maybe it wouldn't. But torn achilles Kobe, taking up 25 mil of the cap? How on Earth can anyone think that isn't a factor?

Dirk and Duncan both take waaaaaay less money, sign Parsons, Wes, DeAndre, and LMA.

Kobe takes 48 mil. We sign NOBODY.

But it's "not a factor"?

I like Mitch scouting young guys. Like his evals, like his ideas, his approach. 100% serious.

But he is HORRIBLE thru planning ahead. Absolutely, horrible.

He got robbed on CP3. So he overreacts to buy Nash, then Dwight with no extension. Loses ALL our picks for almost a decade.
It didn't work out. Ok, adjust. Sell parts. He doesn't. Pau walks. Kobe extension. Melo offer. Nick Young 4 year deal. MDA over Phil. Let's MDA go over ONE year, to bring in......Byron Scott? Luck's into #2, great, redeem yourself, and chases LMA/DeAndre without money to bring others with them. (Kobe deal).

Loses Ed Davis. Never able to court Tobias (may not have mattered) Never pursued RoLo. He did try Monroe at least. Didn't try to get Splitter which would have been fine.

We needed a couple singles and a double. Woulda been great off-season. Add to the core.

Now we are in BAD shape. We could be in serious danger of getting the 4th-5th pick, and handing it to the 6ers. 6ers could get the #1-2 pick, then a top 5 from us. :smh:

If we get "lucky" again, and jump to top 3, that would help a lot. But odds of it are LOOOOOOOOOOOW. Peep the Knicks falling to 4th.

Phil pulled RoLo/Affalo. We coulda used both those pieces this year fielding an "up and coming young roster". Now?

:smh:

Need a hail Mary now. Need a trade to pull in a pick or two. Something to help goin forward. Mitch needs to sell NY to anybody he can. We have no need for him.

Nobody over 25-26 should play for this team other than Kobe. And if he gets hurt in November, so be it. Let all the kids play every second they can. Pray they show out and start to change perception of the roster.

I wouldn't be upset at all if Jim, Jeanie, Mitch, Byron, and Kobe all walk after the year. Doubt it happens, but wouldn't be mad if it did.

The FO has humiliated itself for 3 straight years, and somehow, that doesn't even include hiring/firing Mike Brown. Maybe it should be 4 straight years.

This. Kobe is my favorite player ever but honestly I wouldn't want to play with him. I think that's a big reason why they picked D lo. From watching his interviews he's a guy that's not afraid to tell kobe "hey I'll kick your ***! Don't **** with me this is my team now". People still want to play for the lakers, they just don't want to play for kobe

LA still had/have money to offer ANY of those guys you mentioned deals at what they're making now with their current squads, but twice now have refused to engage in anyone outside of the big fish. That's their fault. They've either missed the boat or outright got rejected for other teams.

They could have offered Parsons/Wes/Boss/RoLo/Biyombo/etc, but were too focused on Melo/Bron/DJ/LMA who weww long shots letting the reat of the other guys get signed while their jacking off. Yes Kobe is taking up 25% of the cap, it would be awwsome if he was at 15% or 10% but that still leaves some 65% to do something with which they've proven not to be able to do anything with. You really think with the knowledge we've gained about how they're working these meetings they'd be able to work with having MORE money to work with. We'll see what happens next year with damn near 70 mil to work with. It'd more likely result in Nick Young type deals than actual help for the future.

This is as comical as can be. Watching this big oaf get hit in the face with D'Lo's passes. Hopefully we can trade Nick Young to Indy.

Roy is at 15.5 so that would have us at 6 and change if we don't give up a significant salary.

Give KJ 4 years 24 and call it an offseason

If the pick isn't coming.. I'd throw in Tarik Black to Pacers to get their first.

Could end up as a late lottery pick.

And Tarik Black as a RFA scares the hell out of me. He could be getting $8-9mil next year.

Meh. I say keep him and deal with that later. If they hadn't let Boss walk I'd be on, you don't just give away young energetic bigs when they're hard to come by.

We've had 3 in the past couple years.. Black, Hill & Boss.

The Pacers pick could be a lottery pick.

I'll take the 2 in the bush when the bird in hand is maxed out ceiling is bench player.
