So Anderson playing in a system that plays at a snails pace is not objective?

It's the truth and everyone has complained that UVA plays a boring style that runs extremely slow. Also that it prevents players from showcasing individual talent on either side of the ball.

And how is Anderson being knocked as a Freshman and Sophomore as a bad shooter not objective. That's honest. And what did Anderson do? He came back his junior year with brand new mechanics, improved his game and became a solid shooter.

Also if Hunter is so much better than Anderson and Anderson is at best a fringe role player. And Hunter is a sure fire bench piece for years to come, Hunter would be ranked ahead of him.

Anderson's numbers wouldn't jump out at you no matter what system he played in. He just doesn't have the tools to do so.

I've accepted that we will most likely land Okafor. If he end up being an 18-8 guy with 1.5 blocks, that's a solid NBA player to pick up at number 2.

I don't think he'll be a superstar franchise type player, but it could be much worse (olowokandi, thabeet, Bowie, etc). If he pans out and puts up those numbers over the next decade, this will be a good draft for us.

Having an offensive center isn't such a bad thing when you need a bucket, he may not be a great defender, but how many centers really are nowadays? How many great defensive bigs are out of the playoffs this year? (Dwight, chandler, deandre, Duncan, Noah)

I don't think that's a smart way of looking at things.

Although I want Towns badly on this team. I think Okafor can be a great player in his own right.
I've looked over a lot of tape on him and his defensive shortcomings mostly seem to be directly do to weight, conditioning, and laziness on the court. Of course he is on the low end of the athletic scale but I think with his wingspan and not being lazy with his movements he can develop to a decent defensive center.

The big positive about Okafor is he works extremely hard. He is a crazy student of the game. I think it's been documented that he looks at hours and hours of tape on the successful big man of the past. And from his recent weight loss it seems like he has no problem with his focus. And he is from the school of Coach K so there shouldn't be any mental issues we have to work around.

Ionno as much as I want Towns I am warming up to the possibilities of what we can be with Okafor. He skill in the post only comes around every 15 years.
Clarkson + Randle + Okafor isn't so bad to start off with in this new generation of Lakers. We just got to hope are other roster moves are defensive/athletes/3 point shooting.

You're right, just trying to say that you can have a contending team without a dominant center and a defensive center.

so many talented players in the lottery I really want winslow to learn from kobe but cant pass up on towns

They should do whatever it takes outside of giving up Julius and Clarkson to move up to #1. For some reason I see Flip caving in to the pressure, and not taking Jah. We can go after a couple wings in FA.

Bogut and Mozgov are extremely important to their teams on defense.

Last year was Bosh/Birdman and Duncan

Same the year prior.

Year before that was Bosh/Bird v Perkins

Chandler the year before that.

Bynum/Pau v Perkins

and so on. Defense at the Center spot is crucial. You can get to the Finals and win without offense at Center, you can't really get to the Finals and win without Defense at Center. See the last several years as I listed them.

If not Town, I definitely hope we can snatch D'lo. Okafor is the least intriguing to me but hey, from fearing we'd be out of a pick this year to being disappointed with the consensus numbr #1 pick for most of the year, I aint trippin too much.

If you're saying Okafor is not even at the level of those guys your listed defensively, then I disagree. My view is that he's not elite defensively but he's second tier. KAT can potentially be elite. Okafor can be great on offense and Mozgov/Bogut on defense, and I'm ok with that .

One thing people are forgetting is the look the swag the personality the marketability that the next Lakers star will need to have. Russell or Winslow can potentially be that type of crossover superstar, which Okafor will not be

I'm not saying we should draft a Wesley Johnson talent with swag LOL
obviously the assumption is that the talent is there too
If you're a projected top 5 pick like Russell and Winslow, you have the talent and upside to be a great NBA player

cool, can we send him to belize?

I mean that would be a nice gift, a birthday vacation.

He is newly engaged.

You are very thoughtful.

When it was time to lose, everyone wanted Swaggy off the team because he'd “win meaningless games by himself" by catching heat.

Now that it's time to win again, yall want him off the team anyway.

This 4 asteriks is personal
