Saw a report that Duncan will take a discount so the Spurs can make a run at LMA. May not have to trade splitter.

Good guy Duncan. Takin less and less money. Eventually, dude gon have a negative salary.

The salary cap even if they were to dump Splitter, Baynes, Kyle Anderson, R. Williams, and say hold onto Danny Green would mean after paying Aldridge his max, Duncan & Ginobli are going to get $6mil at the maximum combined.

Tony Parker / Patty Mills / Cory Joseph
Danny Green / Manu Ginobli
Kawhi Leonard
LaMarcus Aldridge
Tim Duncan / Boris Diaw

With the amount Pop rests Parker, Duncan & Ginobli, and lack of depth. They are a bottom 4 seed in the playoffs. No depth, they lose early in the playoffs. Duncan & Manu retire. Now Aldridge next 3 years he wonders why the hell he went to San Antonio?

I don't see what's wrong with Aminu.

You guys say "he's just a role player" as if that's a bad thing. Every successful team needs solid role players.

We wouldn't have won our championships without them.

So you want to start signing guys to $8+ mil contracts when we have no stars on the team?

That will drive players away in 2016, 2017.

So yes, spending a big sum on Aminu is a bad thing. And it is bad because he IS a role player.

It's different if we sign a name, then sign Aminu..

But when you come out of Free Agency with Aminu, unclaimed lost & found items, and CP's AARP cardd, it is not good for 2016 FA, even with the cap jump

Aminu is 24 and trending in the right direction as a player. Good defender, nice length. I don't see the issue bringing him in at the 3. Depends on what he's looking to make, but if it's a reasonable contract, he's a good glue guy who does the dirty work.

We're gonna take the over the hill washed up David West instead for more money.

Randle and Russell's shot would need to be real legit if they were to sign Aminu though. That's a lot of pressure.

I have no choice but to hope and pray King Zinger develops into something special.

Good point, P Money. I like Aminu's defense and what he could do in transition, but the floor spacing could be an issue.

Mychal Thompson has been hyping Porzingis for the longest time i really do think he could be something legit

Granted I never watched a Porzingis game, from what I read and heard he sounds to have a nice foundation of gifts/skills (size, shooting, athletic), but the support skills (ball handling, rebounding, passing, IQ) will prevent him being a "star".
