It honestly doesn't make sense for Aldridge to come to LA when you do a deep dive. He's leaving Portland for a better chance at a ring and because Lillard stole his shine. it doesn't make sense to come to LA then

It does when Mitch says we can add 2 Max guys next year, AND convince Kobe to come back on the cheap, same as he'd be doing with Duncan/Manu. :nerd:

\Year 3 Randle/Clarkson
Year 2 Russell/Nance/Brown/Upshaw
LMA
2 2016 Max guys
Cheap comeback Kobe

That's not a possible winning team when LMA is 31-32?????

If I'm Mitch, I'm sayin you gonna carry Duncan/Ginobili/Parker one more year, MAYBE win somethin, and then they retire right after and it's just you and Kawhi, and no market anyone wants to join, ever?
That's true, but I think most players would like to see something more concrete than imaginary upon their free agency. But I do see what you are saying and is a pitch the Lakers should make to prospective free agents.

I think LMA can be sold on his future here with us. Like CP said, we sell him on what will happen (and frankly we have the clout to sell that idea unlike most everyone else) and promise him a real shot at a title before he's done. I don't think that's a significant leap of faith on LMAs part.

Absolutely.

And if I'm Mitch, I use Pau as my example. 0-12 in the playoffs, we trade for him, and he goes to 3 straight Finals immediately.

We WILL get you that kind of backing free agent X. We will spend whatever it takes, go over the tax, all of it, to get the team back where it belongs, and our track record is 30+ years of doing just that.

I don't think Durant was ever coming anyways. But you always give yourself a shot, I suppose.

That article JPZ posted in the NBA thread says that someone thinks Russ and Harden are coming over in a couple years.

The point is you always stay ready. Always give yourself a shot. All we need is 1....when that 1 join is the question.

I say if it doesn't seem like LMA will land with us we set our sights to RoLo for a decent short deal and then go get Danny Green or Carroll or Tobias.

One thing I learned is we can't waste time waiting around for people to make up their mind.

I still can't believe essential said Avery Bradley is better than Clarkson

yeah you dudes are tripping. relax. we'll get somebody eventually, no need to be impatient.

this is going to take some time.

let the young dudes develop.

Let Avery pick up JC full court and it's curtains

Russy and Harden both from LA, maybe they want to bring us back post Kobe

I've always liked Harden lol
