while i get what youre trying to say
38 games is a small sample size.
and yes i know hes young and can only get better

might as well throw up Lins #'s during that "linsanity" stage

Exactly. I want to believe in Clarkson as much as anyone but he still has a lot to prove.

Hold up I'm confused...why all of a sudden everyone in hear think it's a done deal that LA is going to the Spurs? Just because their clearing space???

Isn't that kinda jumping the gun. Or am I missing something??? Cuz just last night he was leaning towards us. Now today he is a spur....??

The winds of that sail changed toward San Antonio.

The idea was Spurs may not be able to clear the space without gutting the team.

Now looks like they'll be able to drop Splitter & Mills for nothing and not need to sacrifice Diaw & Green.

So it's the Spurs now.

Greg Monroe and Robin Lopez

a cavs beat writer said the Haywood trade was never discussed.. there's still some hope.

but still, 4 asterisks Dan Gilbert

Who was the beat writer?

If Spurs don't clear the cap within a week or so.. We have a legitimate shot.

If they start to clear cap, then it's curtains for us & LaMarcus

Yea but Splitter and Mills played huge roles for them so isn't that still a negative towards them. No matter what they are on their way down and we on the up.

Why would you think LMA would sign a max for say 3-4 years when Dunc and Manu only have a year left with no guarantee Pop is coming back too?

They may ride off in the sunset and leave LMA and Kawhi holding the bag... thats not "attractive" to me :\

Houston would be the place I'd be scared of if they were cleaning house.

Dallas is a crappy spot IMO

Yeah but Aldridge is better than Splitter.

And if they keep Green. They can try to find a 3rd PG with Joseph as the backup.

Would still be a little shaky on depth, and I think it'd be a mistake for LMA to go there, but if they start to shed salaries then it's a verbal commitment from LMA.

Yea I could understand why you think that.
They just have to sell him on not being short sighted. Over there in San Antonio they want to get 1 ring before it falls apart. But we over here trying to go for multiples in a row. That's what we are setting up for.

That has to be a pitch. Over there at the Spurs you might become a hero. But over here in Lakerland you become a basketball god.

Don't get me wrong.. Aldridge to LA is better for him than Aldridge in SA. More money overall, more prestige, more coverage, likely garners him more individual praise/accomplishments. Also better chance of winning a title in 2016, 2017 & 2018.

But maybe, just maybe that 1 year 2015, is what sways it to San Antonio

What's key is the Lakers HAVE TO HAVE TO. Get another solid Free Agent in the fold to sell to LaMarcus in the week between the meeting and when Free Agents can sign. That could sway it.

That means everything that isn't Russell, Clarkson, Randle & Kobe could/should be in discussion to be moved, that includes picks.

If I'm LMA I go to SA because of Kawhi and Pop alone

Forget old man river. Parkers not THAT old either

I'd prefer Tobias, that would set us up with a great young core a la Steph, Dray, Klay, Barnes

Tony Parker is that old. He rests more than Tim Duncan does.

No one knows how long Pop will coach.

has Pop been grooming an assistant to take the reigns ?

i know coaches have been plucked from his staff, but has there been a mainstay there?

lets say next year is the bon voyage tour for TD, Manu and Pop...who is the next coach there?

LMA, you reading this

Rumor has it that Ettore Messina will coach the Spurs if Pop decides to hang it up.
