Homework/diligence. Relax.

Long time ago everyone went, Kobe Bryant??? Dirk, Nowitzski? Novitski? Nowitzki.....who????

Andrew Bynum, who???

Oak/Towns will be the pick, but you kick the other guys' tires, see what you might glean from them.

Relax.

You don't.

Draft.

A guy.

Who's audition against American ball will be his first year with the team who drafts him.

Not imo.

Only exception: if dude is KILLING IT overseas. I'm talking about averaging like 56 a game w/ 18 dimes and 13 blocks.

When the disparity between the best league in the world and the second best is as big as it currently is, the best player in the second best league in the world doesn't matter to me for a #2 pick.

If Porzingis went to a US college would he be the #1 pick?
according to Chad Ford(

), he would be in the conversation

This guy played 30 games and averaged 11 points....Picked in the Top 3

Remember him?

Rookie year 18pts 9 reb.

Michael Beasley dominated college bball ( 26pts-12 reb )

Rookie year 14 and 5

I think it's best for my blood pressure to just stay outta here until the 25th.

I don't think he's making the case, I think he's saying it won't be the end of the world.

You know why he could be viewed as a possibility next to Randle. His shooting could be Dirk-esque, and yet still workable on Defense as a true Center. He's the exact kind of spacing in today's NBA.

Same reason we all hot and bothered about Towns. Difference is, Towns is an elite defender, I don't know if Porzooinggssonoigss will be that.

But spacing wise, he could be a nice piece beside Randle, compared to Okafor. Just depends which guy they think has the higher ceiling.

If this kid is Dirk/Pau, great find. If he's Darko, well.......

Okafor might be the "safer" pick of the two, but we don't exactly know for sure if he's going to flourish in this NBA either, with defensive questions, range questions, fit questions next to Randle, etc.

Oak will be the pick, imo, everyone can relax, but I get why Mitch wants to look at this kid a bit more, not to mention the possibility someone falls in love and calls and offers us something extra to move up a spot or two. (Phil, Philly, Orld)

I have a strange feeling the Lakers are wanting a backcourt duo like the splash brothers and somehow want Clarkson and Russell together.

We need to come out with a big Towns or Okafor.

Are you making the case for drafting Porzingis?
Foreign players rarely average big numbers. And Beasley would've been a good pro if his head was on straight. If the Lakers can't get Towns, choosing between Okafor and Zinger isn't a bad idea. Could do a lot worse than either man.

No. It's a fairly easy decision.

You take Okafor and if he busts you at least can shield yourself in the pick.

You take Kristaps and he busts? The amount of damage it will do from all perspectives is immense.

Exactly.  If Kristaps busts people lose their job.  If Okafor busts not a big deal.

That and all of the videos I've seen of Kristaps show a slow, unathletic big who does nothing but play on the perimeter.  I don't care what that workout shows, his game films show nothing but him coming off screens and shooting threes.

A bust is a bust man. I don't care if it's Towns, Oak, or a Euro, if they bust, they bust. We lose out all the way thru, there is no "shield".

I'm fine with Oak, no problem on my end, I'm not saying Mitch has to take this kid with a name I will never learn to type even if we draft him, but a bust at 2, is a bust at 2. Name don't matter to me.
