As Butler spends time in Los Angeles this summer, a stretch that’s included an overseas “Entourage” promotional jaunt with producer Mark Wahlberg, Butler’s intrigue with signing a potential Los Angeles Lakers offer sheet has increased, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Man, I would sooooooooooooooo be all over this if we pulled Towns. The defensive ability we could roll out there. :smh:

I'd love a shot at him, but I don't see any way the Bulls don't match whatever we offer.

Either sign a one year qualifying offer with the Bulls or have a team offer a one year max contract (which the Bulls would then match).

So if that's the case there is 0 incentive to be good again next year :smh:

That would mean don't sign anyone and go after JB next year with KD after Kobe comes off the books ... that just seems too far of a reach

Offer him the max... if the Bulls match, they match, move on. :\

What you do is a 4 year max. Player option after year 1,2 & 3.

And a 30% trade kicker. Which means his contract sky rockets if you trade him.

Would leave the Bulls with no way to keep him and move him to prevent losing him for nothing. Because he could just say, I'm leaving after season 1, and getting a higher max in LA that you can't match, so take that risk if you want.

man, i need to start mentally preparing myself for the lakers drafting porzingis.

not sold on the guy but the private workout with the lakers + him saying all the right things has me nervous the lakers are going to take him at #2

they drop all this just when i finally became at peace with picking okafor at 2 :smh:

can they structure his contract that way? and add like a no trade clause too?

You do know that Okafor is scheduling for another workout along with Russel.
So I wouldn't get too nervous. They are really trying to turn over every stone. Actually glad they are going through the process.

i'm sure they're just doing their due diligence, but i'm just preparing myself in the off chance they draft him so i don't throw my remote through my television when the pick is announced.

But doesnt butler have discomfort playing with Derrick rose? Why would the Bulls do that? If the Bulls happen to not match butle, trade Noah and Gibson do the Bulls have cap money?

Could we afford Jimmy and KD in 2016 if he signs a 1 year max and they match?

Let's say 2016 we sign Tobias Harris to the max. Spend $5.67mil on another bench player, and then use the Bi-Annual Exception to round out the roster.

This is what our cap would look like going into 2016

A 30% max = $26,700,000
A 25% max increases from $16,775,000 to $22,250,000

$7.61mil short. But we have 14 players, so we'd have room to cut $7.6mil in salary, while dropping 2 players.

The way you get the $7.61mil,
1. You either decline Ryan Kelly's $2.155mil Qualifying offer, or decline a team option on the$2.24mil bi-annual exception.
2. You find a taker for the guy we signed on top of Tobias in 2015, or find someone to take Swaggy P's last full year guaranteed, and the player option. Which he will likely decline. Considering the salary cap is going up to $109mil in 2017, he may be able to find himself that money again elsewhere over more than 1 year.

I mean he's 21... I get it but that's a large number for someone that is putting up numbers on a pisspoor franchise in meaningless games

17 mil of 89mil cap is what 12mil is to $67mil

And 19 to $109mil is $11.39 mil to $67mil cap.

It's really only 1 year where it hurts, and that's the year where he is the only realistic target that has growth potential.

teams are really gonna be trying to get players under long term contracts this offseason - going to be discounts when players start getting 30M a year

Hm the game has sure changed GSW pretty much played with no C, a bunch of versatile players.

Im now more opposed to drafting okafor
