I have no problem with you, your preference has been well documented, but your recent tyrannical power trip is concerning.

The fact that you'd rather lose worth a player you like than win with one you don't is just odd.

I understand what you're sayin, I loved EJ too, but easily, Kobe was the better player.

EJ + whoever was never getting us 5 titles or 7 Finals.

But style/likeability, I can get where Ska's comin from.

I love Nick Van Exel, but Derek Fisher is a huge part of those 7 Finals. Nick wouldn't be that.
Ska am I really banned for the whole offseason?

Damn  :smh:
Banned? You're posting.

But both of you...
Let's not bring that in here.

Who's going to Vegas fit the summer league? If I'm not too drunk I'll be at Wolves-Lakers.

Can I be honest with y'all?

I've mentioned this on NT before.

That pic right there brings back pain. Legit.

Sealed the deal for me.

"These are my confessions."

I already was weary of Kobe, before being drafted. Had a bad taste by the time he arrived. Then I could see it would be more him, less Quick 6.

And I loved Eddie's approach and playing style. Good people.

Really wanted him to win with the Heat and Grizzlies.

But really wanted him to win... with us.

Not him. *points to the left*

*points to the right* Him.

I dont post in here nearly enough being an avid lakers fan but i understand where you are coming from. although i am a kobe die hard i DEF had friends who were fully on the Shaq and Van Excel Jones bandwagon. It was almost looked like Kobe was some sort of pretentious guy who was just going to be given the keys to the car.

I used to tell them tho that you could look at it that way or look at it as someone who wanted so bad to be in the pantheon of greatness with other NBA legends. I am 30 and I remember watching Jordan growing up and having all the Jordans and being so captivated by him. His game, his physicality, his will, his coolness. The closest thing i ever saw to that was Kobe. Not Grant Hill, not T Mac, not Vince Carter, not Lebron, not Wade, Kobe.

I became an EVEN BIGGER fan during the colorado case. How could a guy who had soo much lose sooo much in such a short time. It soon became the cool thing to REALLY hate kobe. He did things that weren't the coolest things ever, but in this post jordan era, he was not only who i had, but the fight in his eyes every night he took the floor and the offensive and defensive assault he did on a nightly basis was incredible to see. Something i am confident ZERO other ballers from 96'-present (maybe russell westbrook but he never faced that trial) possess. and I'm sure EJ didn't have that.

With that being said and my waaaaaay too long soliloquy about Kobe, as a Lakers fan, i respect 100000% you and a couple of my friends views on EJ and Nick the quick.

Oh an Famous Amos Chocolate Chip & Pecan cookies with some milk or warm white chocolate macadamia with milk during a chill night in feb watching the Lakers vs Boston or Knicks (I live in NYC) is a win for me.

I'm not a Kobe fan either but he's one of the greatest ever for a reason. No way I'd want our dynasty years with anyone else as SG.

Ska hate has reached new levels.

Everyone chill. I know we butt heads like brothers but we're all family here.

People happy when the thread is improved by someone else getting clipped. "No more ryanjumpman? Yaay! Should make NBA talk a little easier. DBD out... again? I knew it was him. Good riddance! More room for NBA talk now."

But make a move that affects THEM instead of someone else. "Tyrant. Power tripper. Ridiculous. Go back to the DBDs and jumpmans."

Meanwhile, I look in the NBA thread and see people discussing shooters and zone defense.

*sips tea*

Multiple shots fired.

I see you.

Can we keep the Lebron talk out of here tho? Could get banned from this thread too

I've never heard of someone hating an athlete more than this weird old dude hates Kobe...

Yet he says he loves Lisa Leslie?

Lol...no intent...just a general statement pertaining to the post right above it. I think ska is usually the voice of reason along with a handful of others.

On a side note, I wonder how mudiays jumper looked in the 2nd go around. And I know the tide has turned on okafor in here, but I really hope he has a solid 2nd workout.
Thing is, I don't even hate him.

I have negative criticisms, and to a simple-minded stan, those words sting.

I've also sang Kobe's praises plenty. Hate, though. I'm out here complimenting someone I hate. Because that's what people do when they hate someone, compliment them.

Where they hate like that at?'

(By the way, I never said I loved Leslie. I appreciate what she contributed to my team. So yeah, to an absolutist, that would be the same as saying I love her.)
