we won 3 chips with kobe, shaq and a great supporting cast

that year we basically traded the supporting cast for karl and gary

and we didnt have either of them show up in the finals that year

i dont think shaq stays in LA even if we win that year

Both Gary Payton and the mailman signed as free agents though.

I knew before that season Shaq was gone and thought it was the best move even though everyone here on NT and all the Laker dedicated forums like LG & CL thought I was crazy saying that at the time.

Reason I knew it was Shaq first off pissed off Laker managment and the fans by delaying off season toe injury the season before. Then he was demanding a contract extension where he could have gotten $30+ million a season each year.

I went to a bunch of regular season and playoff games that season. I was there when mailman got hurt against Phoenix that season.I was at one of the playoff games against the Spurs in the 2nd round when Kobe went off and dropped like 42 points on the Spurs right after being in court in Colorado and then stepping off the airplane.I was also at the game in the WCF when Kareem Rush hit like 6 3's and closed out KG and the T'Wolves.

we didnt trade them but all the perfect team chemistry, experience with running the triangle, all that was the cost of bringing the two old dudes in. we lost that because we thought having raw talent would take us farther

I mean if you read that bleacher report article. Team chemistry was never there to begin with for obvious reasons.

You got to remember that team was pieced together to get 1 or 2 rings at the most. Everyone from players to Laker managment knew that it was a reload & gamble at the time since the Lakers 3peat dynasty came to an end the season before.

Like other people have said I really think the biggest thing that prevented us from winning the championship that season was mailman's knee injury.

Other people and mainly the Laker & Kobe haters will say "no it was Kobe ball hogging in the Finals that season".

Would y'all bring Booz back on a 1yr deal?

Nope.

I actually want him to go to a team where he has a chance at a title.

Dude was the consummate professional, and really tried to mentor young guys. He deserves a chance to contribute on a team that could win.

Also I'd rather Randle & Kelly & Black & maybe Davis if he is back play over him. And with Boozer back, he'd just be taking minutes from those guys at the 4.

This.

I don't see what you guys see in R. Kelly.... I've tried to give him a chance... I've tried to remain positive about him.... but I just feel like he's not even good at the only things he supposed to good at.

[quote name="MoonMan818"][quote name="ComptonPrince"]Would y'all bring Booz back on a 1yr deal?[/quote]For like 3 or 4 mil why not?

He's a productive player off the bench on a good team.[/quote]GIMME DAT!

[emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji] that was a Magic post of I've ever seen one.

I'm more interested which RFA SF they're going to hone in on at 9:01 PST July 1st.

been watching okafors defensive weaknesses on youtube, ugh im really questioning if he is a good fit for us... is his offensive skills enough to justify him as number 2?
