The only series that I really care about

My boy in LA told me living in the west during football season is the best

Wake up = football :pimp:

Absolutely is thebest. Lived in NY for a year. Waiting until 1:00pm to watch football and then having to stay up until 11:00pm or later for Sunday Night football is horrible.

Games from 10am until 8pm > games from 1pm until 11pm (and thisis not even close)

darthska darthska

how come we can't have individual series threads? this thread has done 87 pages and we've only had 4 games :x

I miss the good ole days of NT.

Game threads and Series threads > massive "official" sport/season/playoff threads

Itsalmost as if people get offended these days if people dont post topics in the "official NBA" thread. So much good information and conversation get lost in the thousand page long threads.

 dude is so reckless and OC but effective.
Terrence Jones was big last night.
I think this series still goes 6 or 7.

Carlisle > Mchale.

Mchale slowing learning and going IDGAF mode.

Finally realized Capela needs some burn and deserves to be ahead of Dorsey, maybe he could have got a little more experience in the regular season, but better late then never.

FINALLLY going hack a Rondo when Smith was fouled. Mavs responded by not even hacking again due to the threat of hack a Rondo.

Brewer :smokin
Ariza :smokin
T. Jones :smokin
Dwight :smokin
Harden :smokin
JET :smokin :smokin

I agree.

Series threads >

Mo threads, mo problems.

"Like I said in the ______ thread, y'all not ready for us!!!

"

"We're literally getting no calls.

Just like I mentioned in the ______/______ thread, the officiating is terrible, but even worse in the playoffs."

Personally, I prefer series threads, but I see the benefit either way.

Seems to be that the masses prefer single threads, though. This comes up literally every single year, and once series threads are created, tons of whining.

"So confusing. Midas whale keep it all in one place."

If people get confused about series threads that's on them

I agree with you though that there shouldn't be multiple threads that cover the same topic

So if there were series threads, this thread should get shut down

I honestly don't think there would be any confusion if that happened, and just keep the off-season thread for non game related discussion

I always thought east coast bias was rubbish and just a stereotype, but as I got older I realized, God Damn, if I lived on the east coast and had a job where I had to wake up early there's no way in hell I'd stay up and watch those late games

Pretty sure east coast bias is real now

That's not what east coast bias is.

That's not what east coast bias is.
Yes it is

Causes

The North American continent is divided into seven time zones, spanning 6½ hours from Alaska to Newfoundland. Most of the continent's population (including all of the major professional sports teams) is concentrated in the four time zones of the contiguous United States and Canada west of the maritimes; this, however, still poses a significant obstacle in that the easternmost sports teams are a full three hours ahead of their western counterparts. For sports that play in prime time according to local time zones (as is the case with hockey, baseball and basketball), this can result in the west coast playing games while the East is sleeping and after printing deadlines for the next day's newspapers have passed. Gennaro Filice of SI.com wrote that Major League Baseball's West Coast night games are ending as "the country's most influential scribes are catching Z after Z."[1]John Buccigross of ESPN notes that a lot of people in the East are asleep when National Hockey League's West night games are going on, resulting in lower television ratings for those West Coast games, which contributes to the lack of national broadcasts of West games.[5]

In the United States, the major media hub is the East Coast city of New York, with ESPN and NBC Sports having their hubs in the neighboring state of Connecticut (although Los Angeles also serves as a significant hub on the West Coast). Canada's lone major English-language media hub, Toronto, is also in the Eastern Time Zone (although "East Coast" is a partial misnomer here as Canada's east coast uses the Atlantic and Newfoundland time zones; no major professional sports teams, however, occupy those time zones). Buccigross wrote that an imbalance is understandable from the East writers considering they are influenced by their close proximity and easier access to the happenings in the East.[5] The East is home to nearly half of the country's population and is both more densely populated and was settled and developed much earlier than the West.[9]
