It feels like the clippers cant go higher than this...

Even IF that's true that doesn't mean they should blow it up.

Especially if you need to rely on Doc Rivers' "GM" skills to build it back up.
so what do you do?
a. keep getting to 2nd round and losing and making money and staying relevant
or
b. blow it up and probably see your fanbase shrink when you could've had Chris Paul and Blake Griffin still on the court
either way no championship

Sometimes franchises don't only care about winning that championship. Them being this relevant and this profitable for 4 years is already a huge win for that organization.

Plus CP and Blake Griffin are great players. Having 2 great players puts you in position to win, no matter if dudes on a message board have decided the Clippers' ceiling is the second round.

They need Doc to be a decent GM, not blow it up.

What's that mean?
When teams make the playoffs the further they advance, the larger share of a pool of cash set by the league they receive. Its essentially a bonus, and when a team gets one, EVERYONE is supposed to get a share.

Quick article about it from the 2013 NBA Finals.

Again, EVERYONE is supposed to get a share, and the Mavs cant do what they just did, so its gonna be a problem at some point.
[/quote]they can 100% do that ... & its not the first time its happened

c) Keep doing option A and hopefully one of those times something breaks your way.

Yeah I just read another article that contradicted the first one I read. They can definitely do that.

@SBondyNYDN: Kyle Korver on the Nets: "They have some talented players. They have an incredibly high payroll for a reason."

where's ryan to make sense of this

Then so be it. That's the gamble you take. But few teams are like the Lakers. That is, a team that has continued to get generational talent over and over again.

We won't ever get another PG as good as CP3. We will never get 4 as great at Blake. DJ, is improving. I'm not willing to bail on that because of a few bad bounces. Luck factors in, and the more times this core reaches the postseason together, the improved likelihood that fortune will fall our way.

I just want them to blow it up so I don't have to see more articles about how if the earth tilts ever so much and the blood Moon and solar eclipse happens that they might have a chance at winning a chip. They've had 4 years together, CP is no spring chicken and with the cap blowing up after next season, the teams ahead of them now are going to have even more money to improve. They have this season which looks bleak and next to get it done.

So the East and West are the same and also Wall, Beal and Otto are comparable age wise?

What a bad comparison. Situations are totally different.

Wall came into the league a year after Blake. DJ is only 25. The only guy in the Clippers core who's older than the main Wiz guys is CP and he's 30 - not exactly ancient.!

We don't play out West though. The Clippers youngest star is the age of our oldest. Wizards are 4 wins away from getting past the round the Clippers can't. Our core would have achieved more than the Clips and will take another step if we win round 2.

The Spurs and Grizzles will eventually regress

The teams the Clippers will have to compete with will be the Warriors, the Rockets and the Thunder

We are talking about blowing up a team that has a top 5 core?

The Clippers should keep the core together

East is weak tho.
Wizards would be a first round wash out west.

Maybe you forgot that from 1996-1999 a lot of the same things were being said about the Lakers. Didn't look like they'd be able to get past teams like Utah, etc. And then they did. Kept Shaq, Kobe and Fish and finally got the right pieces around them, plus the right amount of experience. Yeah, they traded Eddie Jones and Cebballos, but those were the biggest moves they made. That would be comparable to the Clippers moving Crawford and/or Reddick.
