What exactly was harden going to do had he picked up that ball with less than a second left and his back to the basket while double teamed, after passing up a wide open shot to give it to dwight at the 3 point line?

its nice when there's 5 seconds left and you get a rebound run it down and go for a game winner before the defense recovers
but that strategy doesnt work as well when you have 9 seconds left, you have an advantage from rushing down but you pull it back out and try to run out some more clock. now the defense is back and your team is not running any play

I have a feeling the Cavs will win tonight. Even with the injures LeBron is so much better than every player on Atlanta it's hard for me to pick against them. Like the Boston series all over again.

Harden showed the hell out, just couldn't get something together in the end. He did have some chances to do something (could've hit Jones as he went into the paint, could've pulled it after the stepback) but GSW played some good defense also. Usually hitting the open trailer is a great idea, it's just unfortunate it was Dwight that was trailing
I think if one of Brewer/Ariza made a move to get to the top of the key by Harden he would've been able to get off the pass. Ish happens.

Howard trailing was a good thing. Harden blew it by not going strait to the basket. He stopped behind the line to set up the hero moment instead of driving and letting the trailing Howard clean up if he missed. Stopping behind the 3pt line blew it. They were down 1 not 2 so why would you do that?

I feel like he pulled it back mainly to waste some time off the clock. The intention IMO was for that to be the final play of the game. There still would've been some time left on the clock if he goes straight to the rim, I figure he didn't want GSW to have a chance at scoring again. I can understand that. What happen is tougher to live with. If you miss at the rim and lose at least you got off a shot. If you score and GS happens to hit a game winner then shake their hand for being clutch.
