ATL will play better tonight. Took a game for them to get over the shock of being in the Hawks and being in the conference finals.

the only problem on that last play was that harden didn't shoot his step back. i mean thats his shot. you're down 1 if you miss theres time on the clock you can foul, call timeout, advance the ball after FT's.

no issue at all with mchale not using his timeout. for whatever reason harden had a lapse in judgement and thats ball game.

99-98, Rockets down 1.

Dwight Howard had a free lane to the hoop man. Wide open. He was 8 of 11 last night. Hardly a go-to option in any scenario of course, but if the Warriors see him attacking and foul him, he goes to the line only needing to make one. One.

And the game goes to OT (in all likelihood - dependent on how much time's left after the FT's).

Instead, Howard passes it back to James Harden who has two defenders draped all over him with 5.0s left out on the perimeter (with Houston trailing by only a point, can't emphasize that enough because Dwight didn't emphasize it in his decision-making at all).

a dwight pull up jumpshot for the win would have been amazing

You really going to try deflect the blame from Harden?

Dude was the best player on the floor, had GSW defense scrambling in transition and waited for a double team then passed to his center at the 3pt line.

He could have easily did his little step back or euro stepped and got a foul or a bucket.

Dude froze there for a second then it all fell apart.

You expecting Dwight to drive from the 3pt line or make FT's with the game on the line is silly as hell, Harden had a far better chance.

Yep. And with Dwight trailing there would have been a chance for an offensive board if he missed. I'd take my chances on a scramble play with the ball in the hands of one of the game's best open court players over calling a TO and letting one of the best defensive teams in the league set its D.

You can't be serious.

It's Dwight Howard. You really expect DWIGHT HOWARD to make a move to the cup...from the TOP OF THE KEY with a few seconds left?

Y'all really need to rewatch it. How could Harden go to the hoop, when Steph was there guarding his left driving lane? That with Klay blocking his right. Refs didn't call anything both ways, more then likely it would have been a bad shot hoping for a call.

Y'all saying he should have pulled up, yeah maybe, but if you watch it again, Ariza is right behind Harden, which means Barnes is right behind him. I think Barnes swipes at him, too. There's like 3 Warriors boxing him in. It's like a Warriors Bermuda Triangle.

The only thing James could realistically do was thread the needle and dish it off to Jones running to the hoop. Passing lane was kind of tight because of Klay, and who knows, Draymond might've blocked it anyway.

Just unfortunate dude didn't get at least a shot off, but Warriors D came up big, considering how hectic and how many guys they had behind the play.

Best splitter of double teams in the league. He never should have slowed down or stopped. It was 3 on 3 until he did that. He boxed himself in.

GSW defense scrambling in transition with the ball in your best players hands > taking a timeout and letting the best defense in the league set up.
I don't even understand how this is arguable.

People saying Steph was right there the whole time.

yes he was...IN TRANSITION...BACKPEDALING. We see Harden attack the basket in that situation 9/10 times. He just had a brain fart last night.

Exactly. It was a god send that Harden got the rebound to lead the break. That situation was probably the best case scenario for Houston to win that game.

3 on 3 in that pic. Had Harden attacked they had the put back advantage because no one paid dude any attention. To worried about Beard they wouldn't have boxed out. The Hawks/Wizards all over again.

He should've never been in that position. McHale should've used his timeout and set something up.

we know how that worked out though. i'll go with a set play 10 out of 10 times with that much time on the clock.
