OFFICIAL 2016 @HEAT PLAYOFF THREAD

“I don’t really like to just stand still. It’s not my strength. I could shoot a high percentage but I’m not per  se  a shooter. I slash, I cut. I’m better in motion than standing still. When I played [for] Scott Skiles  [in Chicago], he didn’t want me shooting any threes. He wanted me close to the rim. My whole focus was the mid-range….This year, [Erik Spoelstra] wanted me to take the corner threes more than I’ve done in the past….Not having someone like Josh [McRoberts] definitely hurts my game.”
I don't know if + a new SF or + all our injured players will fix most of the problems... but still interesting

...

napier definitely has handles. i just want to see him dial in his shot (like the rest of our team needs to) and get integrated. deng speaking the truth. but... you all know already what it is. coaches not using players to their potential? sounds like a job for eric spoelstra!

What did ya'll think of Pat Riley's comments when he said, "no more smiling faces with hidden agendas." He later clarified and said it was a general statement, but do ya'll think he was really referring to LeBron?

If he was do y'all agree with what he said? To me he's kinda right becasue the Heat seem to have a good bearing on who is coming back and what we have to do to build a competitive team for future seasons.

Even more so, Pat's comments about drafting rookies was very strong. He said there are really no rookies outside of Marcus Smart currently getting minutes on a playoff team. The Heat seen to be in the market for a all around player in this draft. A "3PD" player.... one who could shoot 3's, be a play-maker, and defend.

Riley responded to a question, he didn't straight up attack LeBron,

And yea' it's a lot better knowing essensally who is going to be
Last year couldn't have been easy to deal with and surely could have gone a lot worse

bazz aint really had a chance like beasley... chalmers and cole took a lot of minutes.. then wade came in and out of the line up... and when cole got traded we got dragic...
so what do we plan to do with mcroberts? are we gonna pay him that much for a back up?

hope that he makes that leap next year, not sure that Heat trust him enough to give him consistent minutes.

- need to work on handles and controlling himself at times... him and Bazz working together next year could be great... just not sure that they will get consistent minutes. Good thing that everybody will finally get in on a full training camp

We'll see what is what soon

After watching this highlight reel and seeing how things turned out this season its clear Shabazz is very talented, but he lacked consistency. You could tell earlier in the season he was lost in the offense. It got better as time went on, but he needs to work on becoming more a leader and blue collar guy. Be one of the first guys in the gym and earn the coach's trust.

The point guard position for this Heat team is a bit congested and with the way "Bumpy" Johnson was playing down the stretch this season its gonna be a fight for backup minutes next season.

As for Ennis, I like his game. He reminds me a lot of James Posey. He'll make an occasional 3, but he'll earn his minutes by playing defense. He's not the type of player to consistency take his man off the dribble, so he'll have to rely on timely cuts and shot fakes to get into the lane to finish or make a drop off pass to a big. Instead of having him work on fancy dribbles, I'd much rather he work on his footwork and spacing.

Overall he's should develop into a good "glue guy." One of those 3PD guys Riley spoke of. A guy who can shoot the 3, be an occasional play maker, and defend.

Since he left too early to appreciate his overall season...

I hope we get more of aggressive Bosh, he literally had it all when he willed himself to get to the line ... so focused to start the year

Not lookin' like nuthin' but work for a while lol, transitioning from being a near full-time athlete to working frigidly to be a creative 24/7, breh it's exhausting. Going from a 0-100 environment to a 30-60 speed limit work environment is unsettling, especially since I'm not used to not workin' out on the daily(worse part). Mental exhaust is so much more frustrating than the physical one, especially for a competitive person like me but I'm happy with what I'm doing right now and the type of company it ensues(not really at the liberty of specifics). It's definitely challenging tho, I have to do things to distract myself from it so I don't go crazy but have to keep steady pace to stay productive. it's so high input, low output but the progress is irreplaceable if that makes any sense. Only gripe is that now I am in school and I don't really need to be or need school right now, I just want to be there. It's just inconveniently time consuming, haven't decided what to do about it yet. I just hope that I don't get bored after I get used to it cause I can be very whimsical at times lol as long as I am not working 9-5 for any company doing miserable work.

As for recent accomplishments? man just staying out of trouble, out of parenthood, and staying tru to myself
