He can hold his own in the post and on the perimeter while helping with rebounding. Three things STAT struggles to do at this point in his career.

Playing STAT means you're taking away minutes from guys like Winslow and McRoberts. White Jesus > STAT right now, therefore he gets the minutes. But nothing is set in stone, if STAT does more with the limited minutes Spo gives him he'll start to get more playing time. I've seen crazier things happen in the NBA.

Spo will play Amare "here and there" as needed, but he's really not needed on a nightly basis. I've never once said to myself, "Damn, the Heat loss that game because STAT didn't play tonight." laugh.gif

Plus STAT doesn't really give you scoring off the bench. Guys like Gerald Green and Tyler Johnson give you scoring off the bench. STAT is an extra body at this point in his career, scoring is a bonus with him. This ain't 2010 STAT.

But with that said....

It's almost time to ball y'all. Cavs. vs. Heat at 8pm. nerd.gif

And I'll never say "Them boys lost, where the hell was McBob's 2 shot attempts". I will give McBob this, for a big he handles the ball well and he passes phenomenally, and I won't know him as a player, but I think there is a way STAT could play more without their minutes suffering. Winslow will get his minutes, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Winslow gets the starting nod by All-star break. I think STAT can still score the ball in the post and he'll rebound, but we need to see a larger sample size in order to really gauge where STAT is.

Most people in this thread including myself were saying we would be playing better if McRob was more aggressive shooting the ball. They were killing McRob a few games ago... laugh.gif

But its all good bro. Hopefully we can see STAT step up and play a few more minutes and relive the magic.

Fam, I'm not delusional, that magic isn't coming back, you're right, this isn't the 2010 STAT, and I'm gonna be 100 with you, I wish it was 2010 STAT, he was my favorite player at one point because of his athleticism, but injuries/age/no pt he'll never have that "magic" maybe at this point I'd be happy with a trick or ill illusion at this point, but he is still aggressive, at least offensively. Now, if McBob would do what we know he can do he'd be straight.

Please never say this right before a game...

But other than that the Heat responded well in the 2nd quarter. Hopefully they can get it together in the 2nd half. They have to do a better job in transition.

LOL. Sorry. Wizards have been struggling and we've played well, oops.

Sloppy play down the stretch. Wade's turnover and the Heat's inability to get stops at the end of the game really helped seal the game for the other team. I have to criticize Spo because he kept the starters out too long at the beginning of the 4th. The 2nd unit were getting stops, but they weren't able to score. By the time they got Wade and Dragic back in the game, the Wizards were getting into a rhythm.

You live and you learn. On to the next one.
I blame this loss on Spolstra!!

Wade and Co. we're cooking in the 3rd quarter and Spo sits that starting five with 3mins to spare in the 3rd till 7mins in the 4th. That's when DC started to get it's game back in that time span.

Also, why have arguabley the 2nd best player on the team (Whiteside) not get any minutes in the 4th quarter?? And this isn't the first, second, or third game this season Spo sat Whiteside for the whole 4th.

Here's how stupid Spo was for sitting Whiteside; 7-7, 14 pts, 3 blks, 1 pf, 4 rebs. And he sat him the whole 4th eek.gifmean.gif

I'm telling you Spo's madness will be the downfall for this team. Every f****** game it's some new damn lineup to close out the game mean.gif

Not going to be too many "easy" wins with this team. We almost lost to the sixers among other things. Refs killed us at the end but regardless, not a good performance. Offensively, we got ideal contributions from everybody:

Dragic-20,9

Bosh-18,9

Wade-26,9,7

Whiteside-14

Obviously can't give up 113 points.

I agree, this Heat team is not elite. No easy wins this season. The east is very competitive and this team is still learning how to win. One good thing is they are sharing the ball and they shot really well.

As for Whiteside, I can understand Spo's decision not to play him. The Wizards were playing with 4 guards and a small forward out there. Whiteside would've gotten ate up trying to guard the three point line... It's a lose, lose scenario. Give credit to the Wiz, they are fast and keep you on your toes.

Turnovers are the thing that continues to haunt this team. They really need to clean that up.

23 minutes... they didn't even have a front court... they... didn't even...

So you guys rather lose like we did then force them to have 6"7 Otto Porter cover him in the paint? Not only that, they got like 7 layups at the rim uncontested...

Why conform to another team then have them conform to us? It was working in the 2nd and 3rd quarter, why walk away from what worked just to get out played in the 4th quarter when Whiteside sat on the bench???

I guess that's not a coincident right?
Heat fans let me ask ya'll a question because everyone seems to be focusing on Whiteside not playing and how crazy Spo is....

How come no one is mentioning how Bosh is not dominating Dudley down the stretch of that game? If the other team is playing small and Whiteside is out, Bosh should be feasting on the block and dominating. That is how you force the team to conform to you.

Bosh, a quick big man, had trouble guarding the three and keeping his guy in front of him. What do ya'll think is gonna happen to Whiteside?

No one is even mentioning the back to back turnovers by Wade and Dragic? The Wizards capitalized off of this team's many turnovers. If the Heat were not so sloppy with the ball they probably win this game. Even with Whiteside sitting out the 4th.

They played bad, I understand... but there's literally no reason to sit Hassan when they are starting a sf at center. If you are going to lose that game, you lose it with your center on the floor... all season, Spo has showed poor trust to Hassan and a game like this highlights the reality of the situation

Just got back from the game, the atmosphere was electric during the comeback run. TO by Wade then the bad call by the ref started the downfall :{

And is it me or does Gary Neal not miss against us?

Cannot excuse Spo tonight. There has to be a wire loose in his brain to play Whiteside so little in the second half. HOW'S HE SUPPOSED TO GET BETTER ON THE BENCH!?

These haters can't hold him byke!!

You see that's were your arguement losses credibility. You're comparing Bosh to Whiteside? Why? Just based on height alone?

They're two totally different basketball players. That's like comparing Winslow to Wade. Whiteside lives in the paint. He's a true Center versus Bosh is that new age PF who shoots 3s and plays outside the paint.

We had this team on it's heels with Whiteside in the game. Don't know if you saw the postgame press conference but Ira Windermen and another Journalist questioned Spo's tactics of giving Whiteside no 4th quarter minutes.

Why you're are excusing that nonsense questions me for even debating with you.

First off calm down... You said it yourself, Whiteside lives in the paint. How do you expect him to guard Ramone Sessions, Otto Porter, or Dudley on the perimeter? I never said it was the right decision to keep him out, if you read my earlier post, I said its a lose, lose situation. Play Whiteside and the Wizards will feast from the perimeter or drive right past Whiteside. Don't play him and we have guys like you calling Spo crazy... laugh.gif

Turnovers played a bigger factor for why this team lost, IMO.

In any loss you question the coaching, the players, pretty much everything. I'm just asking heat fans to look at it from a different perspective. Whiteside has played down the stretch in games and has even gotten triple doubles and this team lost. It's not always as simple as some of ya'll are making it out to be.

First off calm down? laugh.gif yes sir! calming down sir!!

The way how you go about your philosophies on things in this heat thread you must be very superstitious. What goes up must come down. It's just that simple to you huh?

You don't think Whiteside isn't going to rome out to the 3 point line and cover nobody? But stay in the paint and constantly get 3 second violations? Don't be so simple.

You brought up the comparisons to Bosh and Whiteside, saying how Bosh should've "feasted" against Dudley but didn't. Then you blame Wades and Dragics turnovers as aspects to us losing? But you bring up me calling out Dragics bad sets of games in the past as me just complaining??

Dude you're all over the place. On tonight's loss, all I complained about was Spo's inept coaching. Something just about we all can agree on but you.

With that said, I'm out! See you Wednesday with my "complaints" if we lose laugh.gif
