OFFICIAL 2016 @HEAT PLAYOFF THREAD

I would hate to see Winslow and Whiteside go, you have young solid pieces for the future. You don't give that up for D Howard.

u dont give it up period. u shape and mold them into your next generation and solidify your position as a great TEAM to play for, instead of being a pool of superstars put together to cover up eric spoelstras shortcomings

Guys I know this is an incredible pipe-dream but... I took this from cbssports.com

Sheridan speculates that the Heat could be the team to look for a Howard trade, but doesn't specifically cite sources that indicate the Heat have such an interest. Miami could send Hassan Whiteside, but while Whiteside's block numbers are insane, and he definitely has a defensive impact, his rotation awareness and pick and roll discipline is lightyears behind Howard. It also would make little sense for Miami to pursue a deal for Howard, given that it would be a short-term rental and in order to re-sign him this summer, they would be limiting the money they have available to pursue Kevin Durant.

However, if this was something they wanted to do, to combine Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Goran Dragic, Kevin Durant and Dwight Howard ... and if Mickey Arison wanted to spend the gross national product of a mid-sized European nation on the luxury tax, then the move would be to trade for Howard, sign Durant, and then re-sign Wade and Howard using their bird-rights.

It would form a super-duper-ultra team, which we know Pat Riley covets, but the money involved, and the logistics involved in that kind of a series of moves ... well, it just seems a little far-fetched, even for a franchise that pulled off the 2010 free agency caper.

Either way, keep an eye on Houston. There's definitely smoke. We just have to wait to see if there's fire.

Hmmm... But I just realized Spolstra is still coaching this team so that squad of players would never work. :smh:

With Whiteside, I don't see Spolstra giving him the respect or chance he deserves. He's Mike Beasley all over again but he's being given more of a chance to prove his talent.

I seriously don't know what Spolstra wants from Whiteside. Recently he slashed his minutes and began sitting him for undisclosed reasons in the 4th quarter.

tekthemaestro tekthemaestro as much as Whiteside has become a fan favorite and a player I feel like is the second best player on this team, Eric Spolstra looks at him as a player that's very replaceable. As valuable the fan base views Whiteside, Spo doesn't share that same vision for Whiteside.

I think even if we get say Dwight Howard and a Patrick Beverly, Spo would find away to still screw that up.

Feel like Howard is a chemistry-killer. Not sure how that would work out. Can the team keep him in line or will he poison things?

These rumors seem really fake. More than likely its Howard's agent leaking these rumors to create a market for an unhappy client.

Whiteside > Howard..... But I would consider Boogie Cousins just off the strength he's so versatile. I take all this news with a grain of cocaine...

it does seem fake. why would we want howard? to put a softer non-free throw shooting big man in the paint? i like cousins, but hes ball dominant. hes gotta be the #1 option on his team to flourish which miami cannot facilitate. also, boogie is in his stride. hes as good as hes gonna get. whiteside's ceiling is still invisible. and the only difference between them two right now is that boogie already is good in the post. that can be taught to whiteside.

u know the answer to this. everywhere howard goes, the lockerroom blows up. nobody wants dwight here.

We don't have Whiteside's Bird rights which means we can't re-sign him without having any regards to the cap.

Once again a team who's playing terrible and starting line up all have the worst shooting % of there careers but they can't miss a shot against us.

We have a guy like Ellington knocking down everything against us. Already about to pass his season high in the first half.

I've been waiting for Riley to come down and coach the team for 5 years but I realize it will never happen. Would be a dream come true. I would rather go down in flames with Riley as the coach than be let down by Spo.

And as far as durant on the heat, people need to let that idea to. Even if Miami were the best situation for durant to jump to (hypothetically speaking), he's not going to be the guy that went to Miami after lebron. He's either staying in OKC (most likely) or going to Washington

Udrih is balling right now. I said it when it happened he's an upgrade over Chalmers for the system we want to run. No dumb mistakes. No dumb fouls.
