OFFICIAL 2016 @HEAT PLAYOFF THREAD

He deserves the money. He sacrificed for years to win championships. I do have a problem with him throwing shots at the Heat when they've been quiet about the matter.

At the end of the day they need to figure it out and get the deal done.

But to change note, I've fallen in love with Stanley Johnson. Dude is a flat out winner and a hard worker with the talent to back it up. I hope we get him. Has the upside to step in for Wade when he retires and be an all-star at the wing.

let me help you out there pleighboi

kid looks good! real good!

But no one held a gun to his head to sacrifice for those rings. You can't get mad about a decision you made after the fact especially if your male bestie kept lying to you. The Heat organization didn't cost Wade money, LeBron James did.

You are right, no one forced Wade to sacrifice to win... but at the same time the organization can't be promoting themselves as family oriented "Heat Lifers" and then skimp out on the most important player in Miami Heat history. To add insult to injury, it's quite clear the reason they're not willing to paying him is because they want to save money to pay an unproven Whiteside and whoever else they try and get in 2016. The Heat can't have their cake and eat it too. It's time they make sacrifices as well. Both sides have to bend a little.

And lets not forget, one of the key reasons the Heat are able to get the talent they do is because of their reputation of doing right by players. If this goes south they'll leave a sour taste in a lot of people's mouths and players around the league will take notice.

And I get it, both sides have points of contention. I'm sure they'll eventually work it out. Both sides are too smart not to. No other winning team in the NBA has the money to afford what Wade wants contractually, and the Heat need him as a strategic piece to contend for future championships. Point blank.

wade didnt blindly sacrifice his salary. you know good and well they told him after the rings hed be compensated. lebron didn't tell wade he was leaving either. wade really got screwed over by lebron. thats why i hate seeing wade act like the highschool girlfriend that got played publicly, but still loves him. we NEED whiteside. obvious key player to our next ring. dragic situation still bothers me. we are spending TOO much on him.

but to me, the heat don't have any ground to stand on. you've had your star/anchor player take a paycut for the past 5 years. you've let lesser players come and get more than what hes asking for. its just disrespectful. like i said a while ago, if the heat let wade leave under ANY circumstance... there would be major problems left in the wake of that decision. support for the team would drop tremendously. and future potential players would be hesitant to move to a team that would do their STAR like that. it creates doubt. this whole public battle between wade and the heat alone is breaking the family "heat lifer" message they built. its a giant cluster---- right now

Don't think Wade would end up in Cleveland if he's trying to get paid. He would have to take a massive paycut to play there. Only way I could see him end up out there would be in a sign and trade but i doubt Riley would allow that

Chicago and San Antonio are two places that come to mind...but I think the Heat will end up paying him in the end. But with whats happened over the last year I would not be surprised if the Heat let him walk and go with what we have right now for financial flexibility for the future

That 80 mil they are throwing at the Dragon makes the situation all the more unsettling and interesting at the same time smh

Wade needs to be able to suit up more to justify his high salary demands. I think that's where the difference in opinions lie. Wade wants to get paid big time money but he's only playing 2/3rds of the season and that just isn't realistic.

That's a reasonable expectation from the front office I would agree. But to be fair, those injuries he's accrued over the years have dictated the gross majority of the time missed on the court. At any rate, his output and availability is a driving force to why they haven't come to terms yet and I'm leaning more towards the organization with that reality. Whistle won't leave, I refuse to allow myself to succumb to this thought

@OlDirtyReseller

Good detective work there. I'm glad it was just a coincidence.... but with all the subliminal shots Wade been throwing I'm paranoid.
Yea man, this can't be our manz out here lookin' funny... had made me pull out the go-go gadgets

Thinking it over, I don't feel as strong about him leaving as before. Moreso than Bron, it doesn't make much sense for Wade. He would likely be playing for less in a state that would probably have more state tax than Florida and of all things lose most of his brand appeal(of which mostly resides with Miami). He could miss out on tens of millions of dollars over the duration of his career on contract money alone if he rolled for a lesser offer and risk losing the legacy of being the best athlete to ever come to Miami (not to mention move his whole family)

To me this feels like the Bosh situation last year, but with a lot more theatrics (whether implied or not). And it reminds that they do have the same agent and could be playing the same bag of tricks. Late last year Bosh said that he never had any intention of going to the Rockets and that those were just rumors that got back to him and now in the midst of this "Wades dad publicly wearing a Cavs shirt" somebody conveniently drops that Lakers have mutual interests in Wade

... yea' I know I've got my conspiracy cap on tight but the timing of that report that just seems a little odd

I think this suspect playing tricks thing Wade is doing could hinder his image but all if not most of it would be forgotten if he resigned and assured his position... and of course the completely opposite if he left

And to further complicate it... Wade just followed the cavs on instagram. Dude is in full force troll mode. Like I said, I think Wade trying to get the fans and media to force the teams hand to paying him more

Quincy McCall Quincy McCall

I have absolutely no problem with them trading for Chalmers. He had his chance last season to step up and shine after his horrendous 2014 playoff run. I was glad to see they gave him another opportunity, but he wasn't getting the job done last year. Chalmers is a guy who still makes rookie mistakes after 7 years in the league. He has talent to be a good piece for a team looking for a solid role player so hopefully we get something of value for him.

The Heat have 2 young pups in Tyler Johnson and Shabazz Napier who now have pressure on them to grow up and show and prove in their second season.

Not Birdman Birdman! This Wade crap is getting ridiculous. Let him walk and look foolish, no one besides the Knicks have the cash to pony up. I'm all for Riley calling his bluff.

Any thoughts on the draft?

Haven't checked for any mock drafts to see who can be there at #10

And that Goran contract is going to look terrible towards the end, maybe even sooner...
