Listed a pair of Balenciagas on Ebay and the buyer contacted me via PM to purchase for lower price. He paid the lower price via paypal and the proceeded to "purchase" on Ebay for the $650 full price. Now I get an invoice from ebay for the fees collected from that transaction. Im trying to tell dude to cancel the transaction but of course, no response. Anything I can do to get the fee credited to my account?

Since you were the seller then just cancel the transaction yourself and/or refund the 650

Nah he paid 1x. He clicked the 'Buy It Now' button on Ebay after he sent the money via paypal for the cheaper price. Now I have to pay Ebay 10% of $650 when he got the shoes for much cheaper directly thru paypal. Pretty scum move if you ask me but its w/e at this point.

He probably hit the BIN button after he paid to make sure nobody else tried to cut in on his deal. I doubt he tried to play you when you looked out. Just give him a few days and keep hitting him up to let him know what it is. I just wouldn't ship until he knows the deal about the eBay fees. He'll reach out to you soon enough when that package doesn't show.

Can't you cancel the ebay listing for non-payment, etc?

if you sold it lower thru Paypal, it's not really tied to the ebay listing anymore, correct? You didn't accept a lower price via ebay.

Request that he cancels the transaction, if he doesn't respond within 7 days the transaction will be automatically canceled.

Also if you select "cancel order" from the drop down menu to the right of the item, you can directly cancel the order. If you select that there was a problem with the buyers address, I'm pretty sure you will be reimbursed the eBay fees immediately.

Yes. This is exactly what occurred

It's been 4 days since I put in the request to cancel the transaction. Just wasnt sure what would happen if he did not respond to the request. Thanks for the info!

just wait the 2-3 days and then file the unpaid item case, or try to close the listing and see if the buyer accepts so you can get the fee credited back to you. Had this happen to me last year when I sold a shoe through ebay via meetup. he ended up "buying" through ebay and I didn't feel like reporting it as unpaid so just paid the fees
