AJ XXX (30)

Seen it at a local spot when they were placing their fall orders back in feb/March. It was the back page of the catalog with the Roman numerals XXX in gold then a description saying it was revolutionary etc. and that 2 versions would be available. Premium Leather and a textile version. Whatever that means.
^^ Does this mean the XXX will not use a woven upper anymore??  I was hoping they would improve on the woven upper and actually provide better designs...

A leather version sounds crazy since they started to trade leather in for lighter, more advanced materials with the 2009.

Subbing to this thread for any and all info.

I kinda hope they move on. The woven was cool but they failed with the designs and colorways for the most part. A few were great, most were weak. I just think the 30th anniversary show should be completely new. I'm sure tinker has been looking toward this shoe for ATLEAST a couple years.

Is there any info out there as to the direction they are going with this shoe or the tech involved?

I don't really look forward to sneakers much anymore, but the next Jordan sig is something special to me. I still remember seeing the 13s first appearing on eastbay. Even though every sig has been disappointing, its still the next Jordan. So I'll be excited, until I see the shoe that is.

Always interested in the newest jordan.

I dont buy em nemore but i liked the last 2.

If these look good mite cop because of the milestone......

Thread is the ultimate click bait btw.

I just want JB to get back to trying to make the best bball shoe on the planet year after year instead of trying to cut costs (no heel zoom) but still charging us a premium price.

I expect the signature Jordan to push the boundaries of athletic footwear. If it looks good and performs well I'll pay the premium, but for that money I want all the bells and whistles.

will the XXXs be $300 as well? might as well try, heck make it $500 for fun and also make all retros from now on over $300

those high dollar items have proved to sell poorly. look at all the 500 packs, may not sit on nike but constantly pop up at multiple other spots at retail. like brazil pack at outlets. the $260+ lebrons never selling... the $400+ futures. the list goes on. the consumer does have a limit, it just doesnt always show.

side note, cant wait to get my Quai54 XX9 :D with the assist from a fellow NT'r

Anyone else getting anxious or is it just me? Any info?
I really would love to have a reason to buy a NEW Air Jordan design...but I know that there will be no reason for me to want them LOL...I haven't really WANTED a pair of newly designed AJs since the 11 dropped....that was 20 years ago!!...I have little faith that I will be interested in #30.  1-11 Retros though?....yeah sign me up.

30s should be the last ones imo.. If anything just start doing Jordan 2016 and so on like they did for a couple years

I think when they started switching to years, this was already a conscious decision to keep running with a yearly flagship.

If I read correctly somewhere, they only switched back because they thought that sales were hurting and taking away from the tradition of numbered Jordans.

it was already announced that the jordan 30 was going to continue the use of the performance weave so I'm sure a redesigned flight plate will couple that. it's going to be interesting how they flip the look with all the capabilities of using a woven upper. there are probably hundreds of design possibilities.

So is it possible with the MTM pack of the Jordan I and XX9 that we are getting an early glimpse of what we could expect for the XXX(30)?

I doubt it but that is an interesting thought. a hybrid shoe of past and present? or maybe a shoe that incorporates an idea or piece of all 30 AJ's? that would be dope! with the woven upper you could definitely make that a reality.

Line became bloated overpriced and gimmicky after XIV.    I suspect part of the praise for some shoes after that comes just from Tinker's name being on them.

XX3 is nothing amazing. Looks or performance.  XX is gaudy and clunky with a near useless strap system.  But people think that's great too.

XX9 was a test to see how much they can charge for how little shoe.  It seems to have sold well though.  Expect the XXX to arrive in a flurry

of marketing hype to distract you from what you're actually getting.  Don't like the price? You're not a real Jordan fan.  Want to buy it? Congrats you're one of the elite.

Me personally I don't consider any of them after the XX3 as "Air Jordan's", and that's where the sig line should have stopped IMO. So I have no interest in these.
