Official Jordan 1.5

It's 15 bucks, use it on the next release
Expires 9/1, nothing really catches my eye til October so i'd like it to be applied on this purchase. And i'm more irritated that i had to drive to a mall that's 20 mins away and look for parking for another 20 mins and then come back on Tuesday.

I returned 2 pairs of kicks I bought at a Nike outlet on vacation for 80 each. Returned them and bought the 1.5's. (I'm not spelling out the returns every time for the record WGAF). So I was expecting 10 back on the gift card as these cost 150 but got 35 back in error. Went back to check my receipts after and bam 160 total. The Nike employee only looked at the receipt for a second while scanning the boxs. Maybe they do returns by the lowest priced done in store as long as they don't look at the receipt. Extra 25 from Nike, sure. Not like I was gonna take an hour trip to give em the 25 back. Looks like I'm getting 25 off the next purchase. Makes this good cop a great one.

Page from the "Driven From Within: Michael Jordan" book in which Tinker talks about the first two Jordan models before he got to work on the 3. Its interesting that he noted that the 1 was a model already being worked on in the basketball line with the new jordan wings logo slapped onto it to personalize it to MJ. As the 1.5s or Returns have Nike in place of Air Jordan on the wings logo i wonder exactly how early in the design process was "The Return" brought along. The air jordan 1 upper has been used on other midsole/sole toolings like the Nike dunk sole before.

The 1 with the Dunk sole I wouldn't discount. Glad you brought that up. At some point or another, Jordan Brand needs to revisit the Air Ship.

Just because they acknowledged it doesn't mean for the past however many years they've said the Bred Air Jordan 1s were banned without mention of the air ships. They tried erasing them from history and rewriting the whole story.
Stop being so rustled.

If I go to sleep and wake up seeing rumors of a Shattered Backboard 1 come to fruition, go back to sleep and wake up with rumors that a 1.5 comes to fruition, who's not to say that the Air Ship becomes a reality? We're celebrating 30 years here. Anything is possible. Anything.

I personally would love to see an air ship model retro its one of those shoes on my list that I've been waiting to see come back in its OG form (those and the bruins). Also nice job on that SC article I remember reading that and being surprised at just how influential the Air Ship was only to be seemingly lost to history. They need to bring that model back and from the looks of things recently I'd say it isn't far fetched that we might see them sooner rather than later.

Yeah it really isn't. Although, since it's a full Nike Brand product, the only way it could ever be released (in my opinion) is through a package. If so, it'd be logical to match it with the 1 and they should go all in with a DMP style set like we got with the 6 & 11.

Personally I see Nike rather than JB releasing the Air Ships as the Ships fall more under Nike's past basketball line. Even though the Air Ships that Jordan wore were different than the other Air Ships marketed at the time (featured a sole closer to the AJ 1, more of a mid top etc.) I feel like the sampling and tooling done for MJs particular pairs wouldn't be enough to allow JB to retro the model on its own or tied directly to one of its products. We've been seeing partnerships between JB and Nike happening more frequently recently, such as JB using more "Nike Air" on retros so I don't see why Nike wouldn't release the model all the while promoting it by tying them back to Jordan playing in them.

Technically isnt air jordans 1-xii a full nike brand product? Well the originals not including all the retros they took nike air off of..

The Jumpman and Air Jordan wings logo are trademarked and are featured on at least one part of the shoes (I- XII) mentioned.

Yeah to quantify it as a JB release, JB would have to have some element of a Jordan in it so to reference an AJ 1 sole would make sense (even though I'm a pessimist for things to be done the correct way). The question is, can Nike release it as a stand alone model? That's why I feel it's best to package it as Nike would have to create an era slew of these types of shoes (Terminators, Ace 83's, etc) to make it even relevant. Even so, how do they tie it back to MJ? A package makes much more sense under JB.

Take for example the AJKO. It is a stand alone model in the JB line. It is considered a part of the JB family and has an element of the Wings logo on it. MJ technically never wore the shoe but he did wear the Air Ship. Could the Air Ship ever be a stand alone model in the line despite Nike Air branding all around it? That's where things get choppy.
