"Gray, 25, died on Sunday morning, a week after he was chased and arrested by officers on bicycles on Baltimore’s west side. Police have refused to disclose the alleged violation for which Gray, who was black, was stopped. His family said he was not charged with any crime.

Cellphone video recorded at the scene showed Gray shouting and moving his head as he was carried into a police van. Yet he was later found to have suffered three broken vertebrae. Gray lapsed into a coma and was brought back from the verge of death, before undergoing extensive surgery and eventually being declared dead on Sunday.

“While in police custody, his spine was 80% severed at his neck,” William Murphy Jr, an attorney for Gray’s family, said in a statement on Sunday. “We believe the police are keeping the circumstances of Freddie’s death a secret until they develop a version of events that will absolve them of all responsibility.” Relatives said Gray’s voice box was injured and he suffered swelling to his brain.

A timeline of the arrest released by the police last week shows a half-hour gap between police departing a spot near the scene of the arrest with Gray in a prisoner van at 8.54am on 12 April, and paramedics being called to the western district police headquarters just three blocks away at 9.24am. Gray’s family alleges he must have been badly beaten during this time."

Yea this story got some ppl mad in the city ...seems like they beat him up too bad after they took him back to the station or wherever, wouldn't be anything new for the Baltimore PD :smh:

The crazy thing is dude might have just "vanished" had there not been any video to show dude getting locked up. Baltimore police been doing this for ages knew it was only a matter of time before they got the spotlight.

:x :x

80% severed spine ?

Jeez.. Sounds like some **** Snoop and Chris would do

Tired of this protesting, social media ********... it's just agonizing now

Im right there with you man, I said this back with Michael Brown. A lot of folks just out there because they want to be a part of a "movement" and/or have something to update their social media accounts with. Dont get me wrong, there are defnitely some genuine people about it. People in this particular incident walking around with their hands up, what for?

via CNN

Police, according to their own timeline, spotted Gray, gave chase, caught him, cuffed him and requested a paddy wagon in fewer than 4 minutes. The transport van left with Gray about 11 minutes after that, police said, and another 30 minutes passed before "units request paramedics to the Western District to transport the suspect to an area hospital."

Officers had encountered him a minute earlier, police said. They were working an area where drug deals and other crimes are common, Deputy Police Commissioner Jerry Rodriguez said. They thought Gray may have been involved in a crime, but there was no evidence that he committed a crime, Gray family attorney William Murphy Jr. said, and WJZ reported last week that police had not said what their suspicion was.

Bruh...

:smh:

Cant wait to see whats going to happen with this 30 minutes of missing time.

This case isnt going to get any better. Someone is going to come clean on how he was hurt or the PD will piece together the 30 minutes, either way a storm is coming

He was on them Bikes right? If so, cops don't play round here if they catch you on the bike. Literally hunt dudes down, hit em with cars...beat em up when they catch them for running etc.

Baltimore Police are the worst man, too many bad experiences smh.

They'll probably say that at one point during the missing time he somehow managed to free himself and attacked the officers, which lead to the officers defending themselves because of course they feared for their lives...case closed :smh:

Yea they just gon make up something to cover themselves for the 30 mins they had him in custody, throw some dirt on the dudes name/character n call it a day

And my company was talking about Boston being one of the places they'd recommend transfering me too.

No way Jeff. This case just cements Boston on my 'do not travel' list alongside Florida.

Word...

But what other option is there?
mean.gif
But everything that is tried as peaceful accommodations or improvement... is always made into another form of searching for white sympathy... **** is ******* sickening

There are other ways to try and prove a point than using sympathy

Got dudes out here legit attention seeking... what's understood doesn't even have to be said

Seen a women the other day boasting and telling another mother about where she got this "I matter" shirt that she bought her daughter, with no shame

All of it is ******' sick
