Nas might have a chance at actually winning....

Rosario Dawson? He made a verse for her on "Lost Ones".

But this is slipping into bird territory, talking about who they dated. Careful my dude.

The reason I mentioned that is because people always bring their relationship history into play, whenever discussing Nas/Jay-Z.

I also never knew he date Rosario. Guess it was late 90s/early 2000s when I was like 12 years old. Didn't look in my Vibe or Source mags close enough. I think that relationship could've gone good. So, she's the one who had the miscarriage that he spoke of, on the "Dynasty" album? Learn something new everyday.

 at you falling for that propaganda, that's a picture of the office in Sweden. Jay had the company for a month so was he supposed to go there and fire all of them and hire black people? Especially somewhere where the black population is so small. That would've caused more of an outrage than the faux one you got going on now

And that Barney's incident was a dumb employee, and what you also failed to mention is that JAY GAVE 100% OF PROFITS TO CHARITY

Also, can anyone name a woman who Jay-Z dated before Beyonce? I'm going to say they started dating in 2001/2002 when she was 20 years old, and Jay was atleast 30 years old. No women were screaming for Jay-Z's hand in marriage   . I'm both a Nas and Jay-Z fan, for the record.

Um Aliyah,

Y'all forgetting all you ever knew, convenient amnesia

Dudes making up all kinds of excuses now....talking about "the type of dude you can drink Henny with and roll up a blunt...or the proverbial "Nas keeps it real...he keeps it real man"..LOL. Pathetic excuse after pathetic excuses.

At the end of the day it's not about who has more money, who's married to who or who is seen as more successful......and thank goodness because Nas wouldn't have a leg to stand on in comparison. It's about the music and who is listened to more and how often. Generally speaking it doesnt matter where you live, or what your daily interactions are as you are going to hear Jay's songs and Jay's music more than Nas.

When neither artist is here with us all that is going to be left is the music they provided to the general public. That being said, that is how and why Jay has won because his music is played more, listened to more and requested more, and more importantly still in demand more. Nas, not so much.
more people listen to justin Bieber than say run the jewels. But that doesn't mean that Bieber is better.

The only thing that matters is the actual music - not who is more popular, who had hits like sadaharu oh, who sold more records, etc.

I knew at least one simple-minded individual would make a wack comparison talking about Bieber/Soulja Boy against another artist. Again, pathetic excuse after pathetic excuse. At the end of the day more people listen to Jay than they do Nas. When's the last time anyone heard a Nas record in the general public....I'll wait. Jay is everywhere.....Nas on the other, well he's never there.

Clearly some of y'all r fan boys with an obvious bias on one side or another. As someone who is neutral (not a huge fan of either) I can honestly say that I enjoy about 40% of jays catalog and about 80% of nas'. Just referring to the music here.

pathetic?

If it is a popularity contest then yeah jay probably does win, but we aren't talking about who is more popular. We are talking about who is the better MC and popularity has nothing to do with that. That was my point - it's simple logic. Don't know how you can't see that.

Exactly! You can tell, that Jay-Z likes being in the public eye, or marquee figure. Nas definitely likes flying under the radar. Jay-Z goes to club LIV? Put neon paint + the spotlight on him. Nas goes to club LIV? Mingles, sips, blends right in. Hell, even in actor form, Nas character in "Belly" wanted to move to Africa and be ducked off   :smokin

So I ask you then.....when step out of the confines of your home during your daily or weekly activities which artist to you hear more of in the general public??

I like Nas as well, but let's not act like anyone really listen to or cares for his music in anyway. When Nas does a concert, you can catch it at your local community center, when Jay does a concert you can catch it at your local arena. Nas wants to put on shows at arenas but the demand simply isn't there. He's more like an opening act kind of guy, nothing wrong with that of course.

Girl looking like Glen Davis with that smile.

Still patiently waiting on Nas' next album, hopefully with a DJ Premier beat on it.

Primo lives in my area so I see him frequently. Im not sure if hes broke or just trying to live humble. But he looks ragged. Clothes look old, worn almost bummy. And his kicks arent even brand name. Some worn down asics :smh:

When it comes to music, Nas > Jay -Z
When it comes to looks/features Nas > Jay-Z
When it comes to fashion, Nas > Jay-Z
When it comes to business ventures Jay-Z > Nas
When it comes to intelligence, Nas > Jay-Z
That's 4 to 1
And that's facts
Keep in mind that Nas dropped outta 8th grade. Jay-Z has people behind him guiding him what chess moves to make. Nas rolls dolo. How many black brothers and sisters does Jay-Z have working for Tidal?

Jay-Z-Beyonce3.png

Oh...ok

Remember when Barneys was racially profiling our black people? What did Jay do? Oh that's right, he did a partnership with them
U know tidal headquarters is in Sweden right. How many blacks u know in Sweden?

Jay is more rich and famous I'm not debating that. Nas is a better lyricist, more low key and just comes off as more down to earth in general. I prefer the later. But to each his own. Jay definitely had his verses that had me like :wow: :x

U know tidal headquarters is in Norway right. How many blacks u know in Norway?

For what it's worth to folks Nas is keeping plenty of black people employed at the IRS as far as auditors go and child support services department. Not sure how much pleasure Nas himself is taking from that however.

Black folks can't relocate?

I'm not claiming I know how to run a tech company, and I know it's early on, but it would warm my heart if Jay Z flew some deserving black American kids out there to live/work.

I'll just hope he did.

And for the record, both are great and accomplished MCs, I just like Nas more overall.

What? Tidal was named something different before hov bought it. Jay essentially took over another company and used his power to make it more popular. Why would he buy a company then fire everybody just to hire some black people.

LOL don't tell me J knowles out here helping HIS people  what a fake. Like I said I give no props when it comes to "his" business. He has a complete team of white folk telling him what to do and when to do it. He's just the mascot of an organization.

Lol at people think he's behind the scenes crunching the numbers and analyzing business portfolios.

And he stole give it to me from omilio Smh. Had son on the hook spittin a Rick james line so he couldn't eem get paid like that

As long as that "team of white folks" is advising Jay to pay his taxes in full and on time that's all that really matters. Wouldn't want Jay working for free out here having to pay off debt like Nas. They got Nas out there still on the plantation unfortunately.

Dudes still really rock with Jay's calculated, shallow persona like that? His whole get down is like one big faceless corporate marketing scheme at this point. Nothing about dude has felt organic or human is a long, long time. It just doesn't feel right championing dude. At all.

I listen to both, and both are for certain in my top ten, but I think there is more substance in MOST of Nassir's lyrics and even though they are leaps and bounds more rich than I can ever be, I still feel like I can relate to Nassir, he's got money, not Jay money, but he's probably good, but he seems like a down to earth dude. Jay has some good music as well, but I think cats still rock with him due to what he once was as opposed to what he is now. Also, I think Jay has reached a level that money allows you to be disassociated. For example, he stays rapping about art, I can't relate to the art he brags about, but I guess that's progression from the "4.6" to Warhols. I think if any of us met these two dudes, Nas would be the more relatable like in a underdog kind of a way whereas Jay would be a Massengil box because he believes he is better than everyone else because his money allows to think that. Musically, their last efforts haven't been whT we're accustomed to, but still better than the crap out now that gets constant spins.
