Beefing with siblings UNAPPRETIATION..

Any of y'all have a dysfunctional relationship with your sibling(s)? Swear mines is the absolute worse...smh, I finally spoke with my older brother for the first time in FIVE years, and all that came to fruition from the convo is me cursing him out, him insulting Me, and both of us threatening each other. Smh, I feel bad for reacting the way I did, but homie has been ignoring me the past couple years, apparently due to his own personal problems...its a shame that the next time, if ever, we meet we're going to end up hurting each other. Any of y'all have similar problems with their fam or any helpful advice?
Mai mum tells me that your siblings will always be the closest ever, especially when your parents pass.  The sad thing is, most kids, maybe because of Western influence, or the corrupted society we no live in w/ no morals and values, or whatever it may be do not appreciate, or realize this.

How you gonna fight, hurt, your own sibling that way?

It's that individualism stance that I hate with a passion! the American Dream at times demolishes family structure to where we don't know and understand ourselves. In my culture you always know each other's family name and introduce yourself as "son of ____" or "daughter of ____"...

I guess it's all about them Benjamin's though

Every family for themselves > every man for themselves.

Peeps don't know though.  Kinda sad to see society like that sometimes.

My bro is greedy & unappreciative. I cut him off a while back, hes been trying to get back in, but ehh..... Ive done enough, ships sailed.

You guys are my bros, since I'm an only child and I fight with some of you often....bros gonna bro

You guys will be ok

I struggle with this. At what point do you just wash your hands with family? If we just keep giving them chance after chance and they keep.screwing us over , when do you just say I am done!

My brother used to be so critical of me it shaped the way I dressed, what music I listened to, etc. Still helping me mold into a man.  @Bless  if you're lurking this thread, thanks man.

I only have 1 older brother. I'll make it without him but he does help me out. If he got problems he can see me 1 on 1.

I've found that when this question starts popping into your head the time is approaching or its time now to cut them off.

Having a solid family is something most people want in theory but do little to achieve. **** takes work, and a lot of it.

Like another poster said, coming to the conclusion that American culture is just straight buns.

I have two sisters ones 26 and ones 16

I grew up with my older one so we've always been close. We don't really talk/text much..even tho we Snapchat quite a bit. But when ever I see her, we always pick up right where we left off with the inside jokes and everything.

My little sister is in high school so all she cares about at this point is her friends.. Which is cool, its normal for her age.
Only thing that bugs me is that she doesn't appreciate what she has.
We have diff. Fathers and her dad has money.
He just got her a 1k laptop for her birthday...I was in handmedowns until I was like 10.

On my wife's side tho..she has 3 sisters.
One is completely cut off.
I cut her off too cause she stole from me.
The other two are OK.

I'm an only child and growing up, i thought siblings were best friends until i hit teenage years and learned otherwise. Over the years I've heard some horrendous stories. Crazy how people can be so cruel to someone that's supposed to be close to them.

I don't talk with my bro that much since he moved out but everything is all gravy.

I don't know that feel.

I don't talk with my sister as much since I moved out but everything is all good.

Wait... You my sister?

The worst part of that individualism thing is when you do things for your siblings and they get away with things no one else would dare do.. then they start being about self..

Since you’re the oldest they don’t have to make the same mistakes you did and get all that advance knowledge from you and never reciprocate

I used to be close with my siblings .. I could see not talking to them until my parents funeral now

That's what most of society's ills boil down to: forced to look out for self. In a society that will literally watch you die if you don't have money, being selfish is somewhat of a necessity. Which is horrible.
